Oh! OH OH OH! Their playfulness with one another in the first chapter was enough to make me love this...but the angst of the second chapter was lovely too...and then THIS wonderfully in-character M-ness (so hard to find!) right down to him swiping her memory at the end...heart-wrenching PERFECTION!

Gosh, I love that last line. "Perhaps labeling it as just another unbidden fantasy involving the impish fingers that spun straw into cowardice."

I find it fascinating (and very, very sad) that our dear Rumpel has worse self-esteem than any girl I know of... And this is coming from someone WITHOUT any self-esteem! Really great job at portraying the characters in, you know, character.

That was beautifully written! I have goosebumps all over! Poor angsty Rumple, he really needs to stop the self-hating thing. I like how you didn't have them kiss, hinting that though Rumple tries to make himself believe that she's just infactuated with him, he's just not willing to risk a True Love's kiss.
