what a lovely way to burn chapter 1 . 5/23/2019
this is beautiful and heartbreaking all at once, and i both love and hate it. especially the last bit.
Guest chapter 1 . 11/12/2016
This is a bit... uhh... bad. However it is fiction, I guess you can make up whatever you want. Rivalry can come from nowhere too. I have my own sibling rivalry and I can say it doesn't take a week of torture to make me hate him. No offense. All the offense towards my sibling.
Guest chapter 1 . 5/31/2015
Mycroft, you *incoherent stream of swearing*

Last comment was me btw the one ending in poor Sherlock I think i forgot to log in for it.
Guest chapter 1 . 4/21/2013
That must have been truly horrifying for Mycroft later on. To realize he was given more than one chance to save his relationship with Sherlock and realize he made the worse mistake possible. That his vast intelligence and knowledge on people failed him at such a crucial time. Poor Sherlock for paying the price.
penprofiler chapter 1 . 2/13/2013
I can't believe Mycroft did that! I'm so heart-broken because as much as I want to be angry at Mycroft, I can't. I feel so bad for poor Sherlock, he's just a kid. Please continue this fabulous piece of fiction. :)
UsagiRyu chapter 1 . 11/22/2012
WOW! Very good and painful :) Can't wait to read more!
Guest chapter 1 . 11/17/2012
This is so sad. What was Mycroft thinking exactly, when he decided to obey Sherlock's request? How'd he feel at that moment? Defeated? Guilt-ridden? Angry? Afraid? If afraid, of what?

Why do people jump to blame the one who didn't rescue them instead of the one who tortured, kidnapped, and mutilated them? Shouldn't the blame at least be equally divided between the perps and his big brother? Obviously Sherlock is unwilling to look at Mycroft, to see what his brother feels. With age and understanding, shouldn't Sherlock have eventually forgiven Mycroft or realized that his brother didn't want him to be taken and abused? Both of the brothers were hurt by what was done to Sherlock, right?

Maybe you mean to make Sherlock not only a childish man of middle age (one day), but unhinged as well.
AnyaMaia chapter 1 . 11/14/2012
Meh! Mycroft you fool - you couldnt save him but you should have known better at the end!
Great fic, well written, may have broken my heart a little!
