THIS. I LOVE THIS HEADCANNON OF SETO TOO MUCH.
Also am really sad that this hasn't been updated in ages, but I love the story all the same.
"Our king will sit on his throne again" and "This world needs a Kaiba" just... Reminds me of another story, 'The Princess and the Dragon' by Kohakunohime, cause in THAT story it's implied that Seto is the king of some place and got kicked out, then Joseph comes along to help him regain it in return for his own kingdom's control (And marrying Mai).
I really appreciate what you're setting Joseph up to be. Joey Wheeler will (hopefully) be Mokuba's Roland. He also has an advantage, in that he can speak with Kenzou on relatively polite terms. If anyone is coming from the underworld to get Kaiba, the surely Kenzou has a responsibility to talk to Joey. Seto has elected to keep security over Mokuba in-house, so to speak, and surely Kenzou knows by now that both Kaibas are on speaking terms with Wheeler.
If anyone was to deal with Matthew, then Kenzou should have stepped in sooner, especially since he was upsetting the balance of the city. If Mokuba OR Seto goes down, then everyone knows Domino will crumble, simply because Seto will rampage over Mokuba, and Mokuba would scorn the city into eternally repenting.
IDK, just a thought that Joey should speak with his former mentor soon. He probably knows something that everyone needs to hear. Maybe even a set up of Kenzou speaking with Joey, Roland, Yugi and McKinley, as the most invested parties to this whole event.

Argh that cliffhanger

Ah I cliff hanger. I just read the entirety of Paved with Good Intentions in less than a week and i am impressed. The characterization a are very well developed and this is the best post canon Yugioh fic I've seen thus far. And there aren't even that many card games! Great job, look forward to more

When I first started this one, I didn't think I was going to like it; but after a few chapters I was hooked. The most fascinating part is definitely how Kaiba and Mokuba interact with the Yagamis. I can't wait to see what happens!

This is such an amazing story and an amazing chapter! The imagery in this one is absolutely stunning and it's a stark contrast to the rest of the story, which has more direct and descriptive language. It's amazing, exciting, and honestly gives you an adrenaline rush. I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter, so here's to it being just as astounding as this one!

I just want to say I love your writing. I'm sorry I don't say it enough. I'm never sure what to leave in reviews and feel I shouldn't bother you with the same old, 'I loved it' over and over again on your stories but... yeah. I love them. Even though your portrayal of Yami is very different I enjoy it. You take as long as you need and do as you do. I just want you to know your work is very much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to write.

I hate to hear you say you think anything about the first half of this story was wasted. I think it has been some of the greatest fiction I've ever read and I am very eager to hopefully reach the end of this story. But I am also familiar with the great surge of dismay that comes with realizing two ideas for one story are incongruent with one another. I hope you get things straightened out in such a way that pleases you, that you may share them with the world.

As it is, this chapter was deliciously dark. The idea that Yugi is just along for the ride, knowing he's helpless against Yami's intention to who-knows-what? makes whatever he's planning seem that much more frightful, if even Yugi can't stop him should the need arise.

I realize the last line wasn't meant to be terribly specific, but it gives me the imagery of several men standing behind Yami shooting into the sky for dramatic effect. While not entirely impossible, I doubt that's what you had in your mind. A little more detail would have been great. Or, you know, the next update.

So is it just me, or is Yami taking Enthusiastic Walks?

Phew! I can't wait to see Seto again - and I really want to see where this shooting leads us. I am assuming at this point, like Yuki, that it is something to do with Gozaburo in the other timeline? The plot thickens!

Still eager to see Kaiba awaken, but watching Mokuba's relief was, well, enough to alleviate the tension. He tries to be Nii-sama, but he's not quite there. How close he can get, though, is heartwrenching. A boy that young shouldn't need to be like Kaiba. Kaiba shouldn't even need to be like Kaiba.

Cheers in the fanfic and cheers in my heart. Not only for my favorite story to be back up again, but for the recovery of my favorite fictional big brother Seto Kaiba. LONG LIVE THE KING!
