Reviews for Lineage III
TheOriginalRhi chapter 15 . 1/30
I didn’t think this was possible, but I swear each story gets better and better! I am obsessed! I’m loving the direction you’ve taken and enjoying reading about Dooku and Xanatos as well my two favourite Jedi of course. Can’t wait to see what trouble they get into in the next one!

snylilith chapter 15 . 12/18/2015
Hi! Just wanted to tell you, that this story is great, and so much better than the "original" books! I love every single chapter, the way you show the relations between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, troubles of a man and a boy. As for now, my favourite is part 3 (this one). And when in the first two books I was somewhat like "keep calm, they will be alright", this time was different. I was COMPLETELY into the story, so much, that I was all shaking when reading about the figth with Syfo-Dias. I knew Obi-Wan will be ok (sth just have to happen) but I began to feel sorry for Xanatos and kind of hoping that maybe-maybe he will find some way... Or at least he will have some good departing words with Qui-Gon... Sooo I didn't like the acid in a bit. I have imagination. A LOT of it. Which all is a way to say "thank you" for your brilliant work. You are amazing writer. Aaand I have to go - the next part is waiting!
Aaeri chapter 4 . 12/3/2015
Mace flashed his startling smile. "You're growing old, my friend," he taunted his opponent. "Soon enough your Padawan will be able to beat you without trying."

"I shall retire and teach the crechelings, then," Qui Gon replied, narrowly missing a decapitating blow.

...how far out do you have this story planned bc that's incredible
Guest chapter 1 . 11/18/2015
This entire chapter is an experience. Haunting, kaleidoscopic, silent in its beauty and horror, heavy with memory and destiny. Love it!
hannahsmetana chapter 15 . 10/23/2015
Another treat! And now I'm late for work. Oh well, it's Friday and I, luckily, have flexible hours. I hope you have a lovely day. Know that mine is all the more pleasant for escaping into your imagination. Thanks again :)
Ibelin chapter 15 . 9/16/2015
Poor twisted-up, cruel Xanatos. Qui-Gon's agony and betrayal over Xanatos is HIDEOUSLY painful, for obvious reasons; watching him vacillate between bitter self-blame and the inability to forgive and trust Xanatos and through it all strive to let go and balance himself in the Force just makes me think about Obi-Wan in his exile on Tatooine and then I want to rIP MY HAIR OUT. AUGH.

Anyway, one thing I really enjoy about Lineage is the ACTUAL INTRODUCTION OF SIFO-DYAS AS A CHARACTER and the attention spent FOLLOWING HIM AND HIS MOTIVES AND THE PROGRESSION OF HIS PLANS. Deeply enjoyable irony that Dooku is the one to spend years dedicated to hunting him down and foiling his plot, when he himself ends up finishing Sifo-Dyas's work on Kamino. (...Or does he? I'm only on Legacy II so I guess I'll HAVE TO FIND OUT...)

I also love poor Obi-Wan's longstanding aversion to and warfare with the healers. WHY CAN'T HE JUST TAKE CARE OF HIMSELF. WHY DOES HE ALWAYS END UP PERFORMING GREAT FEATS OF DARING AND HEROISM WHILE PHYSICALLY HALF-DEAD. Imagine what he could do if he was actually healthy when the time for action arose. I SYMPATHIZE WITH BANT. Also that reminds me: WHAT A GLORIOUS JERK. HE? PUTS HER TO SLEEP? And then he waltzes out of there UTTERLY proud of himself, of course. I love how Obi-Wan's mischief always comes in a wonderfully predictable circular pattern, starting with him incandescently pleased at his own daring, and then down through guilt and self-abasement. Excellent.

ALSO WHAT TAHL SAID:

"You should be grateful that your padawan is a man of honor. 'Master, I feel obliged to thwart your will. I shall endeavor to disobey with as little inconvenience to others as possible, and I shall promptly return to be sentenced and punished'."

SO REAL, HONESTLY, SHE'S SO RIGHT. I LOVE TAHL. AND I LOVE OBI-WAN.

I love how Obi-Wan is such a SEEKER, and is so utterly committed to following the will of the Force that he sometimes sees much more than even those wiser than him, but there's still that gap between zeal and wisdom. The scene where he's before the Council and Yoda asks him if he's so wise, shouldn't Yoda become his student now, and Obi-Wan steps back in shocked horror is SO GOOD. Because Obi-Wan Kenobi is so /much/, just like Anakin is so much, but Obi-Wan is still learning and he KNOWS he's still learning.
ASWF chapter 10 . 7/20/2015
It's v nice to see that it's the shy Padawan who came up with that tiny tracer :) it just suggests so much more about a character we have only caught a glimpse of.
And this:
"And because of this, redemption is possible even for the most hopelessly enslaved, the most depraved servant of evil. It's an extreme position."
How long have you planning the revelation in Homecoming, i wonder. Amazing. I was wondering why that question in Homecoming seemed so familiar - and here it is on a reread, a question that Obi-Wan asked as a youth and the affirmative answer to which he found heretical.
I don't think there is a more elegant or natural portrayal of maturity than this - to begin with a child's innocent derivation of a known philosophical puzzle, to an adolescent's revisitation where he shows the evidence of environmental bias - and finally as an adult, intuiting that the heretical position might be the right one and that it is his life's work to find out if it is indeed so.
Progress. I think that's why your Obi-Wan is so vivid and alive and breathtaking. Progress, over both series and through the years.
Guest chapter 8 . 7/20/2015
The last paragraph is ingenious.
"The cleaning droid outside the open doorway was too unsophisticated... to be scandalized by the spectacle of two Jedi locked in a long and wordless embrace. It merely...went about its quotidian business, taking no notice."
A very clean, objective point of view of a scene that from any other perspective would have been cliche and saccharine, and thus would have detracted from the rest of the chapter. Bonus for an objective judgement of "long embrace". The fluff without the fluff, awesome!
ASWF chapter 3 . 7/20/2015
Feld is unerring indeed XD "I told you before, my crazy little friend, you are on the fast track to a Council appointment or expulsion."
And oh, shame on you Obi-Wan. You come back from Ilum and behave like a complete brat xD still a child in some regards haha. And it is oddly nostalgic to see Ben To take Obi down a peg so easily and elegantly - Obi-Wan certainly made it more difficult with every next instalment in both series!
Guest chapter 2 . 7/20/2015
Beautiful, beautiful chapter, and hard-earned and well-deserved triumph :)) this is one of my favorite chapters thus far in all of Lineage and Legacy. This is really where Obi-Wan begins to grow into himself, to me. The beginning of true beauty.
peacelight24 chapter 1 . 7/18/2015
God you are gifted. With this chapter your prose reached new heights of lyricism and elegance. I'm deeply impressed, moved, even.
