Reviews for Roads Not Taken
rebecca-in-blue chapter 1 . 7/26/2017
These are such great, plausible explorations of how Anakin might've been saved from turning to the dark side. I really love that they progress in step with the canon timeline, and that each one focuses on a different person in Anakin's life - his mother, Padme, Dooku, Palpatine, Obi-Wan. I think the first and last AUs are my favorite; I love how you have Anakin focus on Shmi's last words and determine to make her proud, and Obi-Wan whispering "forgive me" after he kills him packs in all the feels, especially since he probably came to wish that he had killed him. The second AU feels a bit too lover's-quarrely, and I think the third one lacks the intensity of the others (but Dooku's storyline was also pretty boring in canon, too). I do like Palpatine ordering Anakin to "kill him" - so close to the "kill them all" from #1, as if he has become the dark voice inside Anakin.

P.S. I think I've told you this before, but we have to say it in every time: I'm reviewing you for the review-a-thon at the Caesar's Palace forum! Come drop by sometime, all fandoms welcome :)

i liked 3 the best
quoththeraven5 chapter 1 . 9/20/2013
That was deep...
Toaofwriting chapter 1 . 5/21/2013
Wonderful. I love all these scenarios, and they are all delivered very well. However, I want to point out that not killing Anakin/Vader could've been seen a very different way: Instead of leaving him to burn, Obi-Wan left him to the will of the Force, a very Jedi-like action. Also, Palpatine's shuttle was coming down, and by the time Obi-Wan had climbed down, sliced his head off, and come back up, Palpatine would've already landed, and Obi-Wan would've been in big trouble. Whatever the case, this was a great story. Well done.
Chosen1 20yrsl8r chapter 1 . 8/7/2012
Of course, #5 would have only doomed the galaxy- no Vader to kill Sidious for good- but absolutely accurate for Anakin personally and well-written, all of them.
Guest chapter 1 . 7/4/2012
Very interesting concept and very true, the last one was unexpected...
AllIWannaDo chapter 1 . 7/2/2012
This was a brilliant piece, and, unlike in the movie, Anakin's actions were both believable and consistent with his character. I especially liked the fifth AU, for the mere fact that I don't believe that Obi-wan could've left Anakin to burn alive if he loved him as he claimed. Again, well done - you added nuance to an otherwise black-and-white tale!
CodeNameCarrot chapter 1 . 7/1/2012
A lovely 5 things story; sometimes the moment is more interesting than the follow-through
Tharin chapter 1 . 6/30/2012
I guess you just put in words what felt so wrong about the whole movie. It could have been so easily avoided. So, despite the fact that I never cared for Anakin as a character very much, you made me like him. Well written, as always.
LadySaxophone chapter 1 . 6/29/2012
Very nice and creative! Number 5 was so sad though T_T
fardell24 chapter 1 . 6/29/2012
All rather poignant short scenes that show how Anakin could have turned from becoming Vader...
Saoirse7 chapter 1 . 6/29/2012
This is good. Sad, but good. Sad because these things didn't happen, and everyone needed to learn the hard way. The third one was the most entertaining, but everything would have been different if Anakin had chosen the right path the first time.
Epic Duck chapter 1 . 6/29/2012
I think my favorite is number 3. :( Number 5 is just so sad! :( Nice story.
Jedi Kay-Kenobi chapter 1 . 6/29/2012
This was a wonderful read. I enjoyed how you pin-pointed these pivatol moments that took Anakin closer on his journey towards the Dark Side and how you wrote them out.

Loved it and a depressing and heartbreaking ending, just like the movie. :)
Guest chapter 1 . 6/29/2012
Great job!
