That ending was perfect, if there's a part 2 I'll definitely be reading it

I actually read this from start to finish, and I must say: BREATHTAKING! You've totally nailed your characters in a way that's faithful to the source while allowing for growth as the story progresses. Not an easy thing to do with a fanfic of this scale, but you certainly pulled it off and set a precedent for MLP. :)

I just recently got into looking into MLP fics and admittedly, I haven't read as many as most people probably have. One of the troubles I kept having was finding an actually GOOD and respectable representation of my favorite pairing (mostly because people have difficulty with the idea due to species and age): I'm naturally talking about rarity and Spike. They are two of my favorite characters from the show and I find their romantic connection to be absolutely adorable despite what people may say about it.

Then I came across your story and I gotta tell ya...I couldn't put it down! I was worried the whole sea serpent/dragon politics thing was going to overshadow everything but you kept the story evolving and expanding and it just got so amazingly beautiful that I just kept wanting more and more. You portrayed Rarity's thoughts and feelings perfectly, giving her choice real depth and emotional weight without letting "fluffy love logic" completely overshadow the need to have her actually process this relationship. Once they had their hearts locked onto each other, I kept getting so teary eyed at how sweet and touching their moments were. From in the jail cell, from both of them trying to defend each other at the same time, Spike screaming "GET AWAY FROM HER", Rarity admitted Spike was hers and that PERFECT moment with Spike growing just tall enough to kiss her.

I was totally enchanted. This is the pinnacle of perfect Sparity: it's not forced, it's not illogical, it asks and answers every question and above all else; it feels so REAL and heart warming. You even worked all kinds of interesting elements to the Pony universe: the introduction of the Gargoyles, where Spike's egg came from, bringing back Ste'fan and the sea serpents as their own race, how dragons growth rate works; even the life mate concept and Moxie. Beautiful, simply beautiful stuff! You even introduced the concept of war and experiencing that horror to the Ponies, very intense stuff and you did without overdoing it; not too gory but not too soft either. I especially loved the little things you put in with Rarity's feelings; like having pride seeing Spike grew bigger than any of the dragons she met or her conversation with Celestia at the end about dragons age.

Having the other Mane 6 butt in was hilarious and TOTALLY within character for them, especially with Sweetie Bell at the epilogue. I was actually scared at this chapter that Rarity's fears would have been confirmed, and Spike was gonna go on another quest after finally getting officially together with Rarity. Thank the LORD you didn't do that! I don;t think if i read a 100 MLP fics that I would ever read a story as satisfying and captivating as this one. I already favorited it, you and have been reading more of your Sparity fics and can't wait to read more. I loved this story so much I wanna read it all over again! Bravo! Encore! I hope you never stop writing because I LOVE your work.

I feel bad for not reading this sooner. This is an epic fanfic. It's definitely going in my "So good I consider it Canon" file.

I must confess that I didn't read this story for a long time because I thought the Sparity theme would be absorbed entirely in a Spikeless plot of foreign diplomacy and intrigue. But I gave in, and I'm so glad I did!

Thank you for writing a genuine Sparity and letting us all see just what they truly mean to each other. Their sufferings for one another's love is truly epic, as are the military scenes.

I LOVE it! The ending to the epilogue was darling, and I thoroughly enjoyed the emotion portrayed. I do so love a good romance, and you know it's good when you start to empathize with the characters! I'll certainly be looking forward to your future works, even if they are much shorter.
