They should not have opened that box, or even gone into John's room to begin with. It's John's business what he has in his room, and they shouldn't violate that. They are there for Sherlock, not him. Even after they did do all that, it's certainly not fair to leave Sherlock to face the music for what they did!

Absolutely brilliant! Some of the most hero-like (and the best men I have ever known) guys I know refuse the title, for the same reason.

Wow great story. Poor Greg, but he shouldn't have been looking into John's stuff but I'm really glad he did. I love stories where the team finds out about John's past, so thank you so much for writing this. Poor John, I can understand it from his point of view of not wanting anyone to find out - always thinking of what he could have done instead of focusing on what he managed to do - but that makes him John :)
I really hope you write more stories, I'm going to be a bit of a stalker and check out your other stories in a bit.

The story is great, but what I really love is the implication caused by John's definition of the word "hero." Whatever he says, John's a hero himself, and Sherlock knows it. I love that :)

Going by John's definition, I think he is definitely a hero. There can be no doubt about it. Could you write more about this? I don't know what, I just really liked this story, and want it to be longer.

This is really sweet, and really sad too.
