And that's how treaties are made. Great. No, really that is amazing. Our two rulers have more in common than they thought and it is awesome.

I nearly cried toward the end... the way they just slipped into such easy conversation and how sad they were over that they'd lost. The dialogue flowed well, the scene was nicely set without a lot of extraneous detail, and the action beats were placed perfectly. I could see this happening, and hear the conversation in my mind. And I'm also slightly depressed, but it's only because your skill as a writer made the emotions so very real.

I love Alistair and Sebastian, and here they are in this wonderful short piece. I particularly love your subtlety with Sebastian's accent and how it seems to get heavier the more they drink while they are talking.

I think I missed when you published this here. This was one of my favorite stories in the exchange. You nailed both Alistair and Sebastian. They're spot on and their dialogue fllows so naturally. Really awesome fic!

i have a penchant for tragic Alistair, so this one was right up my alley. what a brilliant scene. i would never have thought of it, but it's just right. and i love that, despite the regret all around, it doesn't come across as bitter. both of these men are honest with themselves and can see where they made choices that led them to where they are now. well done.

I love this, the way they both understand each other so well ("We made such a good team, my sword and her arrows." "My arrows and her sword." Such a good mirroring of each other and so heartrending) and what the other had done to lose the love of his life.

I also love how Seb's accent gets stronger throughout this as well. Great job.

I've not played through DA2 myself (watched hubby do it, but just can't get past the first act myself) so I don't know a whole lot about Sebastian, but I think you came up with a very plausible story here. Love the interaction between him and Alistair, the way they bond. Great job!

The gruesome sacrifices required of rulers. Sebastian seems to have come off better in his chaste (!) marriage to Flora. She's "nice" at least.

Alistair and Habren is truly plausible and horrible all at once. There seem to be no kidlets there, either. And so are the Tevinter sweatshops, since they aggressively recruit slave labor.

I'm surprised no one has done this before, or at least I haven't seen it before. Touching and sweet how they both understand each other and have gone through the same thing. Loved it!
