A very interesting story. It would explain why the parents never appear and how the find so much magical phenomenom in such a short time. And it shows how much Stan cares for his family, how much he struggles to tell them a truth he knows might hurt them.

In this alternate universe he probably shouldn't send them home because at the end of Gravity Falls they go home and in this alternate universe they have magical powers that made their parents zombies accidentally. It would probably be a bit traumatizing for them to go home to find their parents are dead and they would probably find out in the local news maybe. This was good, I liked how you wrote from Stan's perceptive and Stan seemed very Stanlike. Good job, I bet in this AU they don't go home. I guess he would be their Uncle father? Too bad you didn't continue. This was a great short fic. Thanks for writing.

DUDEEEE i love it! It's the perfect theory as to why we hear so little of/about Mr. and Mrs. Pines! An why the kids keep getting chin-deep into the sueprnatural. And why, well, everything! I love it! Dude- what if your theory is right? What if Mr. and Mrs. Pines are the "characters" that don't make it through Weridmaggedon?

Have you written a sequel to this? If you haven't yet, you should. It's really good, and I would love to read a continuation.

Fantastically written

This is super dark, so I can't actually tell you why this entire idea appeals to me. There needs to be more of this in the fandom though.

Additionally I appreciate informed!Stan, try to protect the twins, it gives a whole meloncholy dimension to the entire thing. As the series goes on, it does seem like there are no plans being made for the kids to go back, which yes- hoping for a long series means less timescale, and that lends credence to the theory that the twins are at the mystery shack to stay.
