Omg this was amazing! Every moment, I felt that horrible, horrible sense of urgency, and I just wanted the boys to be okay! That villain was so twisted, just, UGH! Nothing can break that familial bond between Mustang and his team (even if Mustang himself denies it)! Excellent job with this!

I really like this. And while it was one of the shorter suspense and angst fics I've read, it was to the point and thankfully completed! Already on my favorites.

I kind of want to know General Grumman's reaction to Roy's report. I imagine Roy would give him a rather detailed explanation in the report, since he couldn't say it out loud without the possibility of losing his composure.

This story really tugs at the heartstrings. Roy may say that they aren't like a family, but it's clear that they are. My ending for Fma is that Ed is fifteen or sixteen, gets his brothers body back, and still has his alchemy and all of his automail. The song just added to the story, it was all amazing. And when Ed started coughing, it was sweet how anxious everyone was.

I know it's been a long time since this fic was published, and you might not care about it anymore. I don't know if you even still have any connections to this account. But it's Review Saturday, and I think it's high time I pay it forward on this fic.
This is my favorite fanfiction of all time, by far, for any series. And that's not something I say lightly! I've been in a lot of different fandoms, I've been reading and writing fanfiction for many many years, I have very high standards for writing, but this fic is the one that always stands out to me as truly amazing. The story is fantastic, the suspense is off the charts, the emotions are so passionate and gripping, the alchemy is highly interesting, the characterization is great, everything about it is just perfect. I'm... something of a FMA connoisseur, to put it lightly (you may know me as fma-facts on Tumblr), and I can say with full confidence that this fic could easily pass as one of the official FMA light novels. Possibly even better- it's more emotionally driven than some of the light novels, and also lacks the same "headstrong young teen who is Just Like Ed but confused about their goals and ideals" type characters that appear in half the light novels.
I used to check 's FMA section every day, and read practically everything with Al in it, but nothing ever even began to compare to this fic. Fast forward several years- I've completely given up on finding good FMA fanfiction, and haven't actively searched out any in over two years. But this fic? This I never gave up on. I have a bad memory and tend to forget even fics I actually liked, but this one I always remember, even the title. This is always the first fic I recommend to FMA fans. I've read it so many times. I read it when I was young and trying to sort through my own emotions, and I continue to read it now, as an adult with more confidence in my own identity. Ever since I first found this fic, it's been a ritual of mine to reread it once or twice a year (usually around October, of course). This fic means so, so much to me and I hold it in such high regard, and I always will. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for writing this story, and I hope you're doing well!
