I'm not someone who believes in headcanons of any kind. I think they're nothing but trouble as well as being the root of some of the ugliest disagreements between fans of any franchise. But that's only when someone is insistent that theirs is the one true canon. I don't get that from this story. All I get from this is a heartfelt story about how two of Disney's icons met. And what a story it is! Well done!

Poor Dale, now I feel even sorrier for him. I wish I could just wrap him in a blanket, give him a big hug and lick those salty tears off his nose and tell him everything is going to be okay.

This makes episodes like Le Purrfect Crime (where Dale's feelings are hurt and he becomes Ram-Dale) difficult to watch. If Dale truly was an orphan, it's a wonder how he usually has a cheery mood.

I LOVE this! No one has really gotten into Chip and Dale's pre-RR backstory before, and why they have the kind of relationship they have. It's something I've always wondered about. This is almost exactly the way I would have written it, including the ending. The sly references to Donald made me chuckle, and the ending is touching and lovely. You should write more!

This...is...beautiful! Never before have I read such a golden piece of opus that delves into the back story of Chip N' Dale, two of my all time favourite Disney characters, and tells it so beautifully! It maybe on the tragic side but hey, it was supposed to be and it really works in this story. I always consider Chip N' Dale to be brothers as the way they act is a bit too personal for them to be just friends but this story gives a reasonably good take on how Chip N' Dale met and how they ended up being "brothers". Love how you connect the original shorts and the Rescue Rangers show together too, they fit together as perfectly as a well constructed jigsaw puzzle. In a nutshell (if you'll excuse the pun) this is an all-round solid one-shot and you did a fantastic job. You, I can see, are going to become a great writer for this site. Well done and may you continue to write more stories for everyone else to enjoy! Mixedfan8643 signing out.
