This was a decent read. If you're looking for a fic where Ash is a more serious, this is the fic for you. Do keep in mind when it last updated though.

Some things that makes itself known when reading: there are a couple conventional errors, like using the wrong you're/your or missing some punctuation. It can be ignored though. Ash also seems a bit OOC. Even if he became a bit more serious, I don't think he'd really beat up or threaten someone like he did with Trip (though he didn't exactly beat him up... just push him around and step on him). I get that Ash is fiercely protective of his Pokemon, but I really don't think he would go that far. In any case, I do like Ash's revelation at the beginning. It makes sense to me, though it makes Ash seem like all he's working for is to win a league.

I'm grateful that this isn't yet another harem fic, or a fic where Ash, a kid, is paired up with another person. I get that he's most likely aged up in those fics, but it just seems so odd. But from what I can tell for this fic, Ash is probably a teenager and not eternally ten.

I'm kind of disappointed that Pikachu hasn't gotten to start the journey with Ash, and I hope that Mienfoo isn't going to replace him (I mean story-wise. Pikachu might come back later in the story, but if Mienfoo becomes Ash's main, it'll be like Pikachu is being replaced). It's a cool idea that Ash has a Pokemon he can talk to and understand, but there's a special bond with Pikachu that I really like.
