Great concept, brilliantly executed. This gave me serious chills. Thank you.

In the end this was one of the most beautiful, heartfelt stories I have ever read. The ending made me cry just like when I read the real book. It was paced perfectly and I will for ever have this story in my heart. I have nothing but positive things to say any person reading this to see if this is a good story I would highly, highly recomend this story.

so i read this fic a whopping 7 years ago (reread those reviews, you'll find a very incoherent one by yours truly), idk if you even check reviews from this account anymore but i just wanted to tell you that this is one of those fanfics that have really, genuinely stuck with me, even all these years. so after i did a bored hunger games reread, i was hankering for some fanfiction so i decided to reread this one and wow. wow

you're such a beautiful writer. i love the way you just... craft words and make them sound pretty?

the way you adopted the plot is absolutely heartbreaking. the way everything ends the same is heartbreaking. the way you write prim and annie in particular .. it just .. hurts because theyre too? good for this? i also really like the way you adapted katniss and peeta in this story and how you kept their love story in here too, slowly blossoming in the background

Sad but very well written. I always enjoy stories with alternate takes on the series. I also like how Annie was in the quarter quell. That was a nice surprise. Even though the ending wasn’t different. Even though it was still sad. You made a very well written story that SuCo could’ve written.

i knew prim's death was coming but IT STILL KILLED ME ;_; my poor sweet girl who was used and broken and grieving and TIRED. and don't even TALK to me about the last paragraph in your story.

i really liked how you handled katniss and gale's break-up, how it's him wanting to fight and her wanting to save lives her "seeing the real enemy" that led to the deterioration of it. prim's death was just the final blow.

overall, while this had the least 'canon divergence' in this au...it was still wonderfully written and emotional. thank you for sharing!

oooooof it was heartbreaking to see Prim's PTSD and especially her loss of innocence going into the Quarter Quell :( and ofc no volunteers means Haymitch is going in, so that entire thing-Peeta being a mentor, the behind-the-scenes of how the rebellion got them out, Haymitch in the arena-was very interesting! ...and then you KILLED HIM HAYMIIIIIIITCH :(

also poor Annie, going in the arena again (because NO VOLUNTEERS). but I love how Prim befriended her and Sapphire and Johanna just by being herself. a more hardened version of herself, but still herself. and District 12 got saved! kinda

so basically I just have a lot of thoughts on this chapter but GOOD AU

i am BLOWN AWAY by this chapter ALONE, how good is this whole fic going to be? just the whole premise of Katniss not being allowed to volunteer, so Peeta tries to reunite the sisters, is interesting, but you execute it SO WELL-I love Prim stealing the hearts of everyone in Panem, including the Careers! my gosh when I read about how Cato gave her piggyback rides I knew I was going to die of heartbreak. and then she had to betray him and I died more. and then HE COULDN'T KILL HER. HE COMMITTED SUICIDE SO SHE COULD LIVE. just. amazing. my heart.

You made everyone so human, and it's such a contrast from Katniss's actions, and I love it

I can't believe I actually just had a fit reading this. I could avoid emotions reading the hunger games coz Katniss was mean but prim? I have never cried so much over a book or fanfiction. EVER.
