Dude this is pretty cool. Other than a few grammatical errors (a few botched spellings and duplicated words) it is well written and a very enjoyable read. I hope to see more of it in the future.
I would've gone with the H&K G3 family of rifles. They look more intimidating to me than the FN-FAL, granted they are, for all intents and purposes the same weapon. Plus it would make more sense once Asuka comes into the picture - Germany as an ally is supplying the pilot and weapons etc etc - this is on the assumption you will have her in your story. Anyways just my 2 cents.
