Yes, in Look Before You Sleep, AJ & Rarity do not seem to get on well. However, if Ponyville is a typical small town then there is probably only one school. If Rarity was in the drama club & AJ was in the 4H or FFA, then they didn't move in the same circles. Especially if AJ was a few years older, R might not know her well, but they should at least know each other by sight.
