How can you make me cry with less than 500 words? God, this is amazing.

This is the shortest fic that has ever been worth the read. Heartbreaking and perfect. You sure can put a lot into such a small space. Bravo!

I think my heart just broke - no pun intended. My dear lord, seriously, this was breathtakingly beautiful and sad at the same time!
At first the sweet little story from Darcy's childhood, how she compares Loki to that bird which is - I think - such a great picture to use for him, something that wants to soar but can't and is in need of help.
I don't know whether it is me or whether you intended this but it took me until the end to realize that Loki is only hurt on the surface and that it is Darcy who is in fact dying and broke. No matter, it hit me full on. How he begs, and how you make him beg completely convincingly, not cute of fluffy but honestly just completely in character. Plain unfair he only receives his magic back seconds after her death, too late for him to safe her, poor Loki!
One sentence really got me so much it actually hurt, it was just too beautiful: 'Save me a seat in Valhalla, I'll make sure they'll offer me a place too, he says. His voice cracks. His heart aches. She is asleep. She won't wake up.' Okay, a couple of sentences but that line was so simple, yet the way he practically asks her to wait for him wherever she goes after death - oh boy... simply stunning!
So, yeah, following you turns out to be one of the best decisions I've amde in the last few weeks, you are a-ma-zing, such a wonderful piece!
