Deep shit man...

This is perfect. Absolutely, gut-wrenchingly perfect. I really can't think of enough words to describe exactly how much I loved this -all I CAN say is thank you... So, thank you for a wonderful, wonderful fic.

I Gotta say, i was touched, almost started crying towards the end. Fantastic job.

I love how you wrote the interaction between them! That River knows him so well as to know how to deal with him when he’s in such a mood… that the most cathartic thing to do is to force him into anger and make him react honestly for a change.

And think my heart melted a little at the last line. Because he does always have that guilt that he was responsible for the end of the Time War… but in the end, he did what he had to, and it was for the most unselfish reason ever.

Just loved this story… so, so beautifully done.

This is powerful. So well written. Soul cleansing is never easy. The Doctor is bruised and wrung dry but better for it. Amazing.

Intense and much needed after ATCM. River's approach was perfect. Comforting words would never have reached deep enough for the Doctor to face the truth.

OH THE PAIN! *screaming silently* You are officially a horrible human being! (and I mean that in the nicest possible author-torturing-character kind of way. I'm sure you're actually a brilliant human being) WAAAH MY DOCTOR! Good on River for taking that. Very powerful oneshot I LOVED IT!

I don't think the 11th Doctor could grieve like this, he bottles it up, even 10 didn't go so far. Great bit of storytelling though. That River is his sanctuary and can push his buttons is so brilliantly captured.

Wow. That was deep. It makes sense that at this point the Doctor could only tell the whole story of how the Time War ended to River and that he would need comforting from her after the events of 'A Town Called Mercy'. You wrote them both very well. I'm not sure if River would act the way she did in your story if she had this conversation with the Doctor in the show. Her reaction towards the end seems a bit off to me.
