AHHHHHHHH THIS IS SO SOFT AND ASDFGHHJKL. I'm just. Having all of the feelings about Jane laying with his head on Lisbon's lap, and her stroking his hair. And the CUDDLES. And his quip at the end, about no one coming to save her from "these moments." It's so... In-character. I haven't watched the Mentalist-or heard Jane's voice-in years, but I heard it when I read that line.

I’m sorely embarrassed at my poor attempt at writing a story. Your words are eloquent and capture the character so beautifully!

This was a beautiful piece. 4x10 was a good episode and I am glad that this story was not as dark as it could have been. I think you captured their relationship at this point wonderfully. Something between friendship and more, right up to that last comment by Jane. I love how all the implications are so subtle here. I love that about the show as well, where there are little scenes weaved in to episodes, each, if you take individually, is ambiguous at best. But when you take them all together, you would be blind to not realize that their love is already so clearly apparent. This story captured that feeling for me. Great work!

Oh, this fic is so, so lovely. I loved Jane reveling in relaxing, because I truly think it's something he's forgotten how to do. Lisbon took what would have normally been a very awkward situation and ran with it, probably because they both needed that respite.

The Segway into 4.10 territory was great. I will never forgive the writers for not giving us another 30 more seconds of action, but your interpretation was incredibly raw and well done. Hurt/comfort fics are my absolute favorite to read, and this was so very satisfyingly sweet all around.

I personally appreciated his slightly vague and insinuating threat. ;) great story!

AH! this was INCREDIBLE! this seems like a story you could do more with.. even if it was just like another chapter... SO GOOD. YOU ROCK

This was so enjoyable. And how much do I love the following line?

"She looked composed, refreshed, like she had slept well. He was glad, even in the midst of his own pain. However, he was quite certain he looked like the male equivalent of a murdered hooker."

So, so Much.

"" of these days," he said, closing his eyes, "no one's going to walk down that hall and save you from these moments."

What a perfect line. It feels so right. It is hard to know what Jane really will say to Lisbon when the time comes, but I think you have gotten his voice right here.
