I loved this story !

I am a broken hearted MerDer Fangirl as well. I just finished reading this story to get my MerDer fix. This one is on my list of stories I Love. This story was so well written and left me feeling joy. Wish you would consider writing another-Hint! Hint! You are very gifted-you can write-I read. Your story i found to be endearing:)

Aww, it's such a great story, I'm so sad it's over!

Wow, I can't believe this is over! I loved every bit of this, and this epilogue was perfect, even their banter and all of Meredith's feelings. It was so beautiful to read the way they grew up together, how they shared their lives and it's pretty awesome to think that they are now growing old together.

I will be missing this story, and I'll make sure to come back sometimes to re-read it all. Thank you for posting this!

"He had found someone that made the future worth focusing on, and he was going to kiss her every chance he got." That was so sweet of Derek, I aww-ed out loud. He's such a sweet, innocent boy in your fic, and it breaks my heart how much pain he had to go through.

I really enjoy his conversations with Mark, and the way they are indeed like brothers now. Also, pretty neat slipping in a clever, tired "I love you" in a phone call, with Amelia listening. She's being the perfect nagging little sister ;) And the whole Greyzilla thing is perfect. I could totally see Meredith roll her eyes on the other end of the phone.

Wow, Ellis Grey has feelings! Thank you for giving Meredith this moment with her mother. I think sometimes she had these bouts of humanly pride for her daughter. Well, maybe once in a blue moon, but still, Meredith deserves them. And for Meredith and Derek marrying at 18? I can totally see that coming in the long run, but the 10 kinds will absolutely drive Ellis into an early grave ;)

Both Meredith and Derek did very grown-up things in this chapter. It was great. I think Derek is still an idealistic boy who sees the good in people, no matter what, and I'm glad you showed it here. And Meredith standing up to Ellis is remarkable. Maybe they're going to find an amicable relationship in your story; I think Ellis deserves to be loved as a mother too, she looks so...broken.

And I think the song fits really well with this story, you're right!

Meredith working in the oncology ward is so perfect. So is how Derek asked her to be his girlfriend.

"Sean said I might as well grow ovaries if I did that."

That should not have made me laugh as much as it did.

I was wondering if the fire crackers were going to be brought up. Bravo for how you handled that one.

AND...they found the piece of garbage that killed Jimmy! Can he be extradited somewhere they have capital punishment?

Even if it was a bit of a connecting chapter, I believe it introduced very important things, to start wrapping up this story. I'm sad that you're wrapping it up though ;)

The "Maybe we should call this a relationship" was a pretty cute throwback to the show, and the image of Derek's unruly hair with paint was a pretty great one!
