I love coming back to re read this story, it’s one of my very favourites. The characters are so captivating, I find Peeta so attractive in his nature but downfall is his self esteem and how he tries to avoid any kind of confrontation which is tenfold with his mother. With Katniss, I just want to protect her from others and especially herself. She can only see her flaws and she is so vulnerable even though she’ll be strong for those she loves. There are a few scenes that I like to imagine in Peeta’s POV and what he is thinking. The Halloween party is one as it’s such a turning point for them both and he must feel so guilty when she breaks down. Anyways, thank you so much for sharing this story. I would love to see any drabbles or extra scenes from this universe if you ever consider it!

Love your writing style. What did she really think she’d get out of a conversation with gale? I would love to see her open her eyes to what their relationship truly was

Oh boy. I hope they can quickly resolve this. I’m glad gale acknowledged his behavior and apologized.

I wonder how this would have been written different in the next too movement? I’m glad gale apologized but what he did amounted to rape.

I also wonder about Madge - she doesn’t know that Katniss doesn’t drink? Why would she insist on drinks

Peeta knows how his mother is. He shouldn’t have invited Katniss into his room with the possibility the witch could see. It’s kind of sabotage

Oh, Peeta’s from West Virginia. Somehow I’d forgotten that. He’s a long way from home. I love the reveal of Katniss playing guitar and how everyone rallied to protect Annie.

Sweet and sad. Sweet how k and p took it slowly

So sad what’s happened to Katniss. Does she understand that what she’s experienced is abuse and a form of rape? He isn’t her friend.

“This is not the moment to tell him that I've been on the pill since I was fifteen. ” well it’s be good for him to know.

Gale is a cockblocking jerk.

I had saved this from a list of recommended multi chapter fics, finally got around to reading; couldn’t put it down! Just enough sweetness and angst, with just the right amount of true-to-character K & P. Hard to do! Now I will go see what else you have written!

amazing story! “And you...everything you feel shows on your face. You can't help yourself." exactly what feelings could Madge see on her face? WHat good feelings could there possibly have been there if whstvkatniss described was accurate? That kind of manipulation and abuse would lead to a skittishness that should have been obvious to this supposedly close to Katniss. And why wouldn’t Katniss warn Madge about Gale. He’s a an an abusive rapist! I don’t get how he gets a pass. He got her drunk to loosen her up and have sex with her. FOR YEARS!

Another great chap. Interesting it took 3 months for him to say something to Peeta. Or maybe he though she already had. I still don’t get why she was going to talk to Gale and never told Peeta that. Wouldn’t that have changed things? What did she hope would happen with Gale didn’t they certainly never “talked” much before. Was she going to get her sex fix that never worked

Hmm. She’s really a toxic sort, no? She willingly goes back to the guy who manipulated and emotionally abused and exploited her for five years to TALK? So bc rehén did he help her through anything by talking? Wasn’t that the problem. And does Peeta know that she didn’t come there to see him?

This is a fantastic story. Once again though it’s up to Peeta to initiate.
