Nice. I am a firm believer that the Empire and the Emperor are evil, but I actually sympathized with him here.

It's a pity that Palpatine turned to the Dark Side to solve the problems of the Republic. In the end Senator Palpatine turned into Darth Sidious - who could accept (and even command) the destruction of planets like Brin and Alderaan.

I don't think I've ever seen a disclaimer done in haiku - and it just gets better from there!

Wow, this is really good. I mean, seriously. I've never seen Palpatine portrayed in such a way. Which I guess was the entire point of that challenge ;). The way you gave him a history... A reason for turning to the Dark-side, really created another side to him. A job well done, this is. And creative, also.
