This left me both happy and sad. On the one hand, it was so touching seeing this moment between grandfather and grandson (don't think I've ever seen fic that featured both of them before), Thror comforting Thorin, the love he has for the dwarfling. Yet on the other, my heart sunk because we know about the prologue in the movie; that the dwarves' home will not always be there, the gold will not protect them. And to see the beginning of the gold madness in Thror...oh.

The last part was VERY ironic, but I liked the part were Thorin was crying for his mama. It let him look more like everyone else and not like the mighty dwarfish king of the most wealthy kingdom in Middle-Earth.
