Beautiful. I think this piece perfectly captures most of Lisbon and Jane's relationship (up until season 6 at least) and its heartbreaking to read about Lisbon feeling like she will never be good enough to compare to Angela. Love it :)

This IS pretty depressing...but still very poeticly written. You turn the saddest situations into a work of art... Your writting is amazing ;)

Like you, this isn't the way I would want things to turn out, but this is a very good story. It is heartbreakingly sad, but I love well-written angst! And, sadly, this is very plausible - as are the two future scenarios Lisbon can imagine. Very well done.

Wow, that was gutwrenching! I too have seen Les Mis, and I like the paralells here. Great voice for Lisbon-so sad and how horrible to expect a kiss and not get one. Nicely done, my friend :)

That was...heartbreaking. I think even more so because I know how Lisbon feels. Love how you did this from her point of view instead of taking a third person viewpoint. It made it that much more real.

I think my favorite line was Lisbon's line saying that while not being noticed is bad, what's worse is being noticed and not being enough. That one really hit home for me.

(Some part of me wishes that Lisbon would hit Jane with the hammer, because of all the pain he's caused her.)
