Iverae, dear friend, this is brilliant! Even though I haven't watched Doctor Who I felt myself really being pulled into the scene, feeling everything along with the characters. There's so going on in this scene, so many warring emotions and complexity, and yet you pull it off perfectly. Also, you put so much of your beautiful poetic abilities into your writing and it's gorgeous. Amazing job!

Thank you for writing this. It may have actually brought me a bit more closure. So often the viewpoint from this scene is told from Rose's POV. It feels wonderful to hear what the duplicate Doctor may have been feeling. Your characterization of him was truly beautiful. I believed every word. If you ever think of continuing this I will definitely be following.

I especially like how you get inside the Metacrisis's head; you've really captured that fundamental difference between the Doctor and the Metacrisis, while still making them feel like almost the same person.

Fantastic! It truly captures the emotions and senses we feel but don't understand in that moment. It's so believable that this is what we would see if looking through this human Doctor's eyes.

This was simply amazing! I have never read a fic that so clearly defined the duplicate doctor. It was powerful and very well written. I hope that you continue to write more stories as I look forward to reading them.

This was beautifully written. It is rare to find such a well-written character study of 10.5 during these moments. It was refreshing to see a oneshot about Journey's end that didn't focus on Ten or Rose, and moreover I was impressed by how much depth you gave to the duplicate. I've always been disappointed that he got so little screen time, and thorough character studies of him have always been a treat to read for me.

I loved how much the duplicate Doctor felt like he was his own person. Obviously, he dominantly acts and sounds like his Time Lord counterpart, but there was just enough of that "blood and anger and revenge" in him to separate the two. He also had a lot of humanity in his character as well- he allowed himself to be so blatantly selfish with Rose, and his realization about what it means to be left behind was a very human reaction. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that you did an amazing job with fleshing out his character so well.

However, I must make a point of saying that this is my favorite part of the story:
"Centuries of self-hatred turn into something new as he disassociates from his former self. He clings to his new persona, the Duplicate, as it allows him to arrogantly rise up to be a better man than the one that's stealing away in his TARDIS. He's able to apply everything he's ever hated about himself to the Doctor now. An angry flood of hateful thoughts starts. He hates the Doctor's cowardice. He hates how the Doctor always runs away. He hates how the Doctor always abandons everyone, like himself, and Rose. He hates that the Doctor never told Rose he loves her, because it really does need saying. He hates how the Doctor lies. He hates the secrets he keeps and who keeps them from…he hates…he hates…he hates..."

That was just wonderful. I can completely imagine 10.5 thinking that.
The final like was just wonderful. So much cautious hope and optimism, it really suits their situation. Anyway, I loved this to bits!
