OH MY GOD you have no idea how much I was grinning like an idiot because of this :D I don't know why I'm only reading this now, because damn, it made my heart all light and fluffy and uggghhh

Matsumoto. Oh, sweet, impatient, troll Matsumoto. My favorite "high" shinigami was her, obviously. She is so good at the teasing (well, you're really good at *writing* her teasing). Have I ever told you how much I love this friendship you've created between them? Not just in this story, but in Rapture too, where they have lunch together and confide in each other and tease Karin (and each other) all the time? It's sweet! Because I don't think they get enough interaction in the manga, since Matsumoto is usually with Toushiro or Nanao or her drinking buddies, while Rukia has Orihime and Ichigo and Renji. They need to interact more, if their relationship would be like this!

Proof that I'm a slow idiot: I totally didn't realize it was going to be a proposal -_- Honestly, even when Matsumoto called her "Kurosaki-fukutaichou" it didn't click - not until Ichigo showed up and I realized they were already dating. I thought that somehow the news about their butt-canon had spread and everyone was teasing her because they thought she knew too, and her brother was just pained because he thought she was okay with Ichigo seeing her peachy butt (since she *did* say she was happy).

And then the resident sweetheart held out that box of chocolate and I simultaneously went "ohhhh" and "awww" and my heart just *melted.* Shy-awkward-emotionally stunted Ichigo is my *favorite* Ichigo :) That's one of the many reasons IchiRuki is so great? Because you know Ichigo would be the bumbling idiot, while Rukia, who has just as much romantic experience as him - which is zero - would take it all in stride and dominate the relationship, like you said :P

And I couldn't stop giggling at the "Dammit woman! Stop being so difficult and just open the damn box!" I think I reread that entire part like three times, where he kept trying to get her to open the box and she kept refusing, because gah, their banter is so adorable and he's so desperate and she's so confused and it was so GLORIOUS!

I honestly felt like the beginning of the story was mostly unnecessary. Rukia spent most of the time being confused and even when we realized why everyone was concerned, the only important event was at the end of the story. I think I would have preferred a more flowery depiction of Rukia's Valentine's day focused on how both she and Ichigo think it's stupid. It would have been interesting if she only THOUGHT it was stupid too while secretly wishing Ichigo would get off his butt and do something romantic.

Regardless, that's just my opinion. It was still well written and cute.

I liked this. I thought it was really sweet and somewhat hilarious that Rukia was confused out of her mind with how people were acting. The scene at the end was simple Ichigo and Rukia interaction... I love it. But poor Renji. But great I liked this.
