This was a great part two. Originally, I was surprised that there wasn't more "love-stuff" between Blaine and Sam, but showing them dealing with the aftermath of the shooting more than their feelings (which were always there but just buried under the surface) made more sense and showed how secure their relationship was, no matter how it was labeled. My mind just had to fill in the details of that first date...and other firsts, hehehe.

The little character moments were excellent. I loved all the bits of Blaine bonding with Sam's mother. Little domestic scenes, but they went a long way. But my favorite had to be the part when Sue offers comfort to Sam, assuaging his guilt at having had to kill someone with her straight-shooting, matter-of-fact attitude. That is a scene I wish we could have seen played on TV because it was Sue at her best. :)

Kitty was a riot, with her sharp tongue slicing the scenery with aplomb. And "The Godfather" homage with Al Motta thanking Sam for saving his baby girl? So worth the price of admission, lol!

I am appalled at myself for not reviewing this way back, because I read this story like at least once a month. While I was in the minority it seems and actually liked "Shooting Star" (I mean, really, wasn't Chord Overstreet amazing?), this was so much better. And not just because our boys were the focus.

I love Sam in the protector role as he tries everything he can to keep his friends safe - including some definite action hero moves to bring down the one gunman. And Blaine, for being so panicked worried for him that he tried to pull Sam under that overcrowded study carrel desk then kept enough of his head to try his damnedest with the makeshift first-aid.

You conveyed the tragedy perfectly with the descriptions as Blaine is rushed through the aftermath with Sam's stretcher without being overtly graphic. Add in the other kids accounts of their experiences and you can feel like you were there.

And I sure have no complaints how Sam lets the cat out of the bag that he's not a straight as everyone always assumes he is. (Always a squee-inducing reveal I've come to expect in your stories, lol.) And I, like Blaine, melted during his "there are always things we don't say" monologue.

Everyone is so in character, too. From a dazed and helpless Marley in the waiting room to Sue threatening to eat that reporter's liver on the newscast. Sheer perfection. And kudos for including the one thing the story structure of the TV shooting wouldn't allow: the reactions of the old cast. They were real without becoming overwhelming (especially our resident drama queens Rachel and Kurt).

I couldn't help thinking this was a hell of a way for Blaine to meet his future in-laws...I mean, Sam's parents. Plus Adam; I have to admit I rather liked him here, especially after he described Auntie Snix's "full on fire-breathing snakes-for-hair conniption"! I laugh every time I read that!

Oh, and extra kudos for your love of Sugar Motta, who I also believe was a sadly under-developed and misused character on TV. Her Scarlett O'Hara moments in the library were just awesome. :D

Loved this, to be fair, I am not keen on Blam and think they would be better off as friends n the show, but the way you write makes me root for them . Good job! Very dramatic and interesting xx
