I liked this :) a lot. My favorite might have been Dr. Pol - I like her character, and it was short but sweet. And I do love Lois / Ianto friendship fics. The conversations he had with Gwen and Jack were shatteringly honest - I do like all the angst that this 'verse delivers, and the continual struggle to cope with this particular version of no-longer-dead. I continue to love the understated, completely in-character, pretty much perfect way you write Jack and Ianto's interactions and relationships. As for Albert... I was gearing up not to like him on principle, because even with the mistakes Ianto makes in this series, he's my favorite, damn it! ;) I enjoyed the multiple tries at reconciliation... and the alien mistletoe snog! Hilarious and so perfectly Torchwood. I cracked up when Ianto decided to just go with it and try to improve Albert's technique while he's at it. That episode will either be ammunition, or a funny story later on if they manage to become friends. He seems even more unapproachable than Owen - and I think part of it seems to come from the whole "I'm Jack's right-hand man, back off," competition that they have going. In S2, Ianto said that he never thought he and Owen were in competition - he and Albert totally are, but neither one will admit it.
Whew! Sorry about all that. If only I could write my term papers on your fics instead of on Beowulf! :) My life would be so much more fun. Anyway, I really liked this piece. I was happy to see more in this 'verse - and this turned out to be what I had been hoping for in the last one, with a little more character interaction and development. Also loved the ending - again, understated but perfect way for Ianto to stay and start to get back on his own feet with Torchwood. Fantastic. :)

Wow...I REALLY love this! Great follow up and I'm happy Steven decided to stick it out in the end. I also love how Ianto gave himself a job with Torchwood and yet not. And...the alien mistletoe and poor Albert? That was one way of removing the pole stuck up his butt concerning Ianto. You really do have a warped mind...but we love you anyway!

Can't wait for the next installment!
