Yes, he believed him, because he believed In him. Sam knew that his brother would always be there for him. Because, he might not be able to carry the burden that comes along with those trials, but he could,and would carry Sam. From the darkest pit of Hell, to the highest point in Heaven Dean would carry him. He would slay all angels or demons who stood in the way, keeping his brother safe from them all. And he would find a way to save him,cause...just cause.
