Reviews for After the Funeral
Guest chapter 1 . 11/6/2019
This is beautiful! Absolutely in character, and wonderfully written. You captured both Sherlock and Mycroft’s different ways of grieving perfectly!
MuggleCreator chapter 1 . 1/20/2016
That's very sad, but sort of sweet too. Because kids, even Holmes kids. (Even if both would prob'ly resent being called kids...though perhaps not in this situation.)
Perfect.
Icecat62 chapter 1 . 11/6/2015
A nice pre-canon what if. It was a breath of fresh air to read these two as being brothers who more than tolerate one another's company. More like the Granada Holmes brothers.
StealMyShow chapter 1 . 2/22/2014
This story is just SOOOOO good!
dastardlyduck chapter 1 . 2/14/2014
Poignant and I like how you write Kid!Sherlock. The relationship between Mycroft and Sherlock is adorable too. This fic seems to evoke more of the Sherlock/Mycroft relationship of the original Conan Doyle stories than the BBC show, just because they're sweeter to each other. But maybe it's because Sherlock hasn't grown into his snark yet. Wonderful job!
Superpower Lottery chapter 1 . 12/30/2013
The way you wrote Sherlock falls in beautifully with his older canon portrayal. Love it.
(The story is finished, right? It seems finished, but you haven't marked it complete.)
cate chapter 1 . 8/13/2013
Very nice. Mycroft isn't a 'rubbish big brother ' at all.
kateydidnt chapter 1 . 6/21/2013
I just want to hug both of them, though they'd probably be very confused by it.
deathlyHealer chapter 1 . 5/20/2013
Aww! That's adorable! This (Finally, might I add - To my great relief) is the first story I have read that doesn't portray Sherlocks' father as some mean, abusive, uncaring figure who has eyes only on making sure that Mycroft follows in his footsteps. Loved it :D
no name please chapter 1 . 4/21/2013
I can completely imagine this happening. I love the idea of 14-year-old Sherlock being just a teensy bit more open than adult Sherlock-he doesn't know what to do with his emotions, but he still manages to convey them well (unlike "I don't have friends!" grown-up Sherlock). Mycroft's approach to Sherlock was very in-character as well. I love the idea of them deducing things about the funeral attendees and then competing over how said attendees will behave. It's a gentle hint of the rivalry they will have as adults, and it's sad and sweet all at once.

Bottom line is, I think you did a great job with conveying the relationship between Sherlock and Mycroft. They do love each other, and I think it's safe to say that once upon a time they were close like this. I really enjoyed this, you did a great job with this.
Rocking the Redhead chapter 1 . 4/10/2013
Such a nice moment between the brothers. Even as much as they squabble they do live each other.
The Pearl Maiden chapter 1 . 4/10/2013
This was perfect. Completely and totally in charcter for both boys. :)
marylouleach chapter 1 . 4/10/2013
