I think your story is quite good although it is a bit short. Poor Alex is all alone and nobody understands him. But on the other side they can't understand him because how should they? THey don't have the chance to because they don't know anything about Alex and he doesn't want them to know too. But anyhow these reasons don't justify their bad behavior.

Yet another great one shot! The only thing I noticed, however, is it went really fast. He was an official agent in a matter of minutes, Smithers already had an ID for him, etc. I just seemed unrealistic that something that was that big of a deal would take such a short amount of time. Length of writing was also short, like the fact that his dialogue with Smithers was three sentences, when Alex really likes the guy and what he's doing is a big deal. You'd think they'd have a bigger conversation about it. Description with the dialogue would help loads. Facial expressions, body language, etc. Otherwise, I liked it a lot, and I'll go read the sequel now!

Wouldn't it make more sense to put "Results of Fighting Back" as the first chapter of it's sequel, it is just on chapter.

you could do a killer sequel which is 3 years on and after a traumatising mission alex is sent to beacon beacons and then a nice lil bit with k unit and then brooklands shows up, pleaaase;))
