I loved the story, I was touched by their friendship and their closeness, the confidence they have and the desire to protect each other. My favorite duo without a doubt, the most sincere and transparent show of friendship, company and help. I loved how you handled Gai, always so true to his ideals. Sublime.

I love this story and I highly appreciate the amount of detail and work you've put into it. I've always felt bad for Kakashi's losses over his life. It's not fair to him at all, but I'm happy Gai has always been a constant support for him all his life. I loved what you wrote regarding Gai's devotion to him when he is sick, and how their partnership is built on the highest level of trust. It's great and very fitting to their canonical background of being rivals from the very beginning.

Ahh i love the way you portrayed Kakashi and Gai's friendship here. Gai being unfailingly loyal and Kakashi being so, so desperate to protect him. I think it's sad that Kakashi tries to distance himself from people just so it won't hurt as much when he loses them, but he can't help but care for the people around him again and again. I'm really happy that he has Gai.

One of my favourite lines: "That's rule number one of being Kakashi's friend: Don't take his mask off. He doesn't think it's funny. Oh, sure, he'd laughed it off when Genma and Raidou had succeeded in pulling it down one night at the bar, but he'd left early and when Gai had found him later, the copy ninja had been staring at his father's blade, one grey eye dark and unreadable."

If I could somehow take all of the words in this fic and materialize them in front of me I would hug them, I would do it so hard that they would imprint on my skin. Such is the emotion this fic has given me.
My God, this is beautiful. Every single word in this is perfect, and looking at all the battles this two have fought side by side the words in this just shine more (Like the shiniest of Gai smiles).
And now I'm remembering the battle with Obito and I want to cry. Ahhh, congratulations too for making me remember why I hated Itachi with all my soul back then.
I want to say more because this really made me feel so much, but I can't think of the right words to match the amount of feelings.
