I feel the need to point out that the average grunts council ME weapons in 2157, at first contact with humanity, are for the most part equal to modern assault rifles, with their main advantages being on the logistical front, cheaper to produce and virtually unlimited ammo. Their firepower per shot is actually slightly less but condensed in a smaller bullet it has equal or slightly higher piercing but barely any stopping power. Their only real advantage in a firefight is shielding, which only lasts a few shots

I can't believe this story has been abandoned, I mean what artists abandons his creation of a masterpiece ,don't you see the beauty in what you have written. This has to be the most beautiful, most compelling and most heart-rending fanfiction I've read in a while and I've read a lot ,I'm damn near addicted to them. Please I'm begging you if you ever find the time, muse or inspiration please finish this story or at least arrange for it to be adopted and finished by someone else. You have done a beautiful job so far and reading this has actually taught me to have more faith in myself and my fellow man so thank you very much for this beautiful work.

Uh, hate to break it to ya but... New york... Isn't the biggest city out there.. Tokyo, Japan is. I was honestly surprised when i looked that up online, us Americans hold quite a lot of pride in ourselves.

Well, i think that the Russians would be unleashing hell upon the alien invaders, upon realizing that the invaders would be more then willing to commit mass genocide and it would be unwise if the Russians don't wreck havoc, the invaders will take control over their nuclear arsenal. It's like two people scrambling over each other to grab the football.

It would've been more useful and wise for the rangers to take over the ship and lay waste to the enemy fighters. Though, the rangers would suffer heavy losses but would be able to take the ship.

A beautiful fuckin gem in the middle of mediocre fics(not your fics just the majority of stuff on this site). I cannot express my joy for finding this, and I haven’t even finished it yet! This story is great and you should definitely continue it. I know this is also a bit late but what about prototype and experimental weapons like lasers and rail guns? I think the laser would have been more likely though because people have actually put working lasers on a ship and I'm not sure how much many land vehicles but on land lasers shoot down mortar shells and missiles and in the navy they have only shot small targets like a small boat.
