The pacing is excellent, it really felt like I was in the action. Overall, I'm very fond of your work, and do hope you return to do something else soon (maybe Fallen From Honor?).

I already realized that from you writing in first person and making references to pop culture as Shepard apparently, this is a self-insert fanfic. How you describe Tali each time, is also obvious.

The first chapter of this was great. This was me reading your work for the first, but as I read your other work and then continued this, this became incredibly boring.

Nothing against some bro time with Garrus. I like him too, but there's so much stuff thrown in that it left me confused sometimes. Too much unnecessary filler.
Kinda is the point of the fic, I know, but this is Mass Effect. I don't see this is some everyday friend getaway to some random gym to fight and have a tournament of sorts.
The Citadel DLC did actually a better job though, when comparing too yours.
There's not much action or drama.
But you know what there a a hell of a lot of you've mashed in this work of fiction.

Too many music, movie and games references that not everyone gets.
I think it's fine to reference a song or two, but not every single goddamn time.
I don't care you like these songs or you want your "minions" to listen to this. Too much of these random references don't really fit in this.
I wish I could've told you this when you're in the middle of writing this, but I see what this fanfic is now.

Real shame and I thought this wasn't going to be a self-insert.
Oh well, I will finish this, cause you did have interesting parts here and there.
And to be honest, if I had something good to say about this, that you actually made me laugh with the gay drell and Garrus. Not sure where this Garrus kissing you came from though.

I sincerely hope you made these remaining chapters captivating and not all feel good.

I've never read a Shepard & Tali fanfic that was in first-person POV, but it definitely works. It's unique, it makes "Shore Leave" stand out from the pack. I have to say, Shepard has a good taste in music. 3 Doors Down isn't a bad choice when introducing an alien to human music. Also, I like how you showed that the Suicide Mission affected Tali. In the game, everyone seems to just shrug it off. While you wrote that no one died, I'm pretty sure people would have some bad memories of the Collector Base. Great first chapter, reading on!

Congrats on finishing the story! I didn't see any drop in quality, so no worries there.

Once again, love how you incorporate music in your tales. It's refreshing to see something other than mindless rage as a primary plot device. In this fic, you have had different pieces move the story along in ways that would have otherwise required convoluted plot sequences; very well done.

Looking forward to your next work, and have a safe trip! By the way, I do a bit of traveling myself. If you go through Chicago, take the southern route. The Dan Ryan is jammed for the next week or so; repairs I guess.

This chapter was sweet, which is great, but I did feel that it lacked much of the charm of several previous chapters (maybe because there weren't many antics, and Joker's party didn't quite work for me). However, it's still great work and I love seeing the continuing chemistry between Shepard and Tali. I must confess, however, that I'm quite disappointed that there will apparently only be one chapter left on this. Are you planning on a sequel, or any other Shepard/Tali fics, because I would always love to see more of those.

Way for Tali and Shep to have child confirmed.

Finally! I was wondering when this would be updated, considering it's one of the two main Tali/Shepard tics I'm following right now, and the other one was updated a few days ago. I'm glad to see that the romance is back in full swing after my slight disappointment with the last chapter. However, I'm slightly concerned that Illium and the events of the story are becoming a little bit too human. I noticed that about halfway through this chapter when I was struggling to sustain my willing suspension of disbelief. It would be nice if there were a few more reminders of the fact that this is an exotic, alien world. Also, this chapter seemed a little bit short to me. However, it was, as usual, quite good and I enjoyed reading it. I'm looking forward to more like this, as well as catching up with how Garrus and the other characters are doing. I'll be watching for your next update!

Only one grammar problem, in the last sentence. You switch from past to present tense; "She ... *laughed* ... *made* ... *were* and *surrendered*" switches to "It *takes* obnoxiously loud ..." If you switched it to *took* it would match the rest of the paragraph. On its own, it's good, but dissonant with the previous verbs.

Also, kudos on lampooning the quarian fanfic tropes. How many are there? Dozens? Hundreds? Not checking ... Talimancers are already on the case.

I'm glad to see that this story finally got an update! Well written, as usual, although I must admit that I felt that there was too much focus on the band/music and not enough on Tali and Shepard. Maybe something to keep in mind for the next chapter. By the way, the dragon age reference is in the name that Tali says the Quarians use for a cappella, "Andraste". Anyways, looking forward to the next update!

Interesting music selection, some of which I follow a little. Have you gotten into Pentatonix at all? They've done some quality work recently. And of course, the Rockapella group is always worth a look-see :)

Ha, noticed two of them! A very, very well made chapter, really sincere and it's great to notice an old and out of date group, was always fond of such, then again the old bands remind me of BioShock and I always have an urge to play the series when I hear such...damn it! Anyway, really great chapter, very excited for more.
