well, at least Ron's matured. that's not to say that he won't be pissed when he finds out he was slighted for a girl. interesting story you got here, would like to see more!

What did I think? WHAT did I THINK?! I'll tell you what I think...

I think I'm LOVING this story so far, and can hardly wait to get more updates inside my skull so I can "paint" a more complete picture of the "tale" in my mind! I added it to my "follow" list after the third chapter, and now that I've finished the other five, it's on my 'favorite' list. And will STAY there for as many chapters as it takes you to finish it.

Actually, you did Ron a favor by making him more 'human' than even Ms. Rowling did. He was more than a bit of a prat in the books (at least the four that I've read) but here, he has the 'decency' to realize that, once she is REALLY in love, he has NO chance of winning Hermione's love back. And THAT'S what it's all about, isn't it?

So, until the Veela claims her own and the moon sets for the last time, I'll be here, re-reading this as much as I want to/need to.

Just to "weigh in" quickly about your question in the author's notes at the end of Chapter 2. Yes, please keep Phoebe and Terrance; they provide a bit of an "aside" for the characters, and give both Hermione and us (the readers) a bit of a break from the activity between Hermione and Fleur, which could possibly get too "hot & heavy" if it carries on for too long. Besides, Hermione could probably use some more friends besides her "usual" line-up.

So far, so nice (and good) for getting the relationship started and developing into a romance.
