I can't garner much sympathy for a woman who keeps a child secret from his father.

Dammit, this isn't finished. I should have known better than just going for it, hoping it wouldn't end somewhere in the middle..!
But aside from my frustration: Awesome work, really! I've hardly ever read anything better than this! You're character development is unmatched, you're great at giving hints and keeping the reader on his toes and when reading the dialogues, I could practically hear them all talking. Brilliant, really.
Guess I'll have to change my wishes for this year's Christmas into "the final chapters of Sky Song" :-)
In the meantime, while hoping there will ever be an update, I'll go check out your other stories...

So I just read through this story from beginning to end over the course of two days. Wow! You have crafted a truly cracking adventure and I am in for the long haul. You capture each character with the spirit and forward momentum that always characterized this show. Your dialogue, especially, just leaps up and makes their voices come alive in my head. I love it!

I will admit, though, that I got a little lost there for a while with the various flashbacks, when you were jumping from the various crew members' points of view. But it was much more clear in this chapter, with the italicized portions hinting at future events (which sent chills down my spine - what on earth happened to Inara?) I probably don't have to say that I'm itching to see how this all resolves. I duly note, however, that you haven't updated since February... still, this will definitely stay on my alerts in the hopes that life lets you update soon. Thanks for writing!
