Reviews for Hide-and-Seek
Windy Darlington chapter 1 . 8/30/2016
Oooh, so beautiful and dark! I do so love the dark and broken ones. . . This was a very nice piece! I just loved that "We are all walking in shadows" parting line; perfect! This is SO in-character, however do you manage that? Stunning! Their conversation was so real, I could almost believe that this was a cut scene from the movie!

Werde Spinner chapter 1 . 5/13/2016
Wow. Just... wow. The shadow imagery. And the way you captured both of their voices so well - I could hear them speaking these lines in my mind.
elegant.malice chapter 1 . 5/30/2015
What a chilling end for the two brothers, to know that they're both Odin's puppets. Being a dialogue heavy fic, it was managed extremely well. The slow curl of venomous words from Loki and the forceful and sincere words from Thor, both are captured perfectly.
Rachelle Lo chapter 1 . 8/29/2014
Lovely eloquence and symbolism.
Window Girl chapter 1 . 2/12/2014
This is lovely. I like the idea that both brothers are fighting for their father's approval.
BlueNeutrino chapter 1 . 11/17/2013
An excellent exploration of both characters and their relationship with each other as well as with Odin. It was a very interesting read, clearly very well thought out and with both of them perfectly in character. The only thing I feel I have to point out is the correct spelling of "Jotunheim", but I really loved this and I think this may be my favourite story of yours.
Merina Thropp chapter 1 . 8/5/2013
Oh my gosh fantastic. Your Loki is spot-on. Wowwooww.
XIXIX chapter 1 . 8/2/2013

Undercoverfan chapter 1 . 8/2/2013

JohnGilbertVampirehunter chapter 1 . 8/1/2013
very well done. I can imagine Thor and Loki actually having this conversation and almost wish they could.
Mythopoeia chapter 1 . 8/1/2013
"Restless nights, wondering how and when you could make peace with your pettiness, deciding upon the hour when you would come and grind your mercy into me as stone upon stone. And then what? You leave?" ("grind your mercy into me as stone upon stone"-This line is so great. It turns mercy into cruelty and a sort of vaunting, selfish thing, which is of course entirely wrong but also absolutely how Loki would see it.)

"I love my—our father, but I have long since accepted that I am no better than a hammer in his hand. I will never be the raven on his shoulder." (The hammer in his hand and the raven on his shoulder-I LOVE this!)

"Have we not been playing a game of hide-and-seek, brother? Chasing the glory of each other's shadows?"

"Go, Thor," said Loki softly. "Bring back a realm. Dangle it above me, if you must. But remember, no matter what you do—we are both in his shadow."

I say it so much in my various reviews on your stories, I fear I am sounding like a broken record, but-YOUR DIALOGUE. It's so good! I love how you've handled the voices of these two, especially Thor, since I think there's a tendency for writers to make him sound . . . well, blunt and dumb, compared to Loki, and I disagree with that interpretation of his character. As for Loki, I can easily hear Tom Hiddleston delivering those lines, so well done you. And again, people tend to view Loki as the one wronged by Odin's attitude and actions, and Thor as just the beloved one, so how you show both of them are hurt and while they've spent so much energy and angst fighting each other really perhaps they were just fighting their father without realizing it . . . Whoa. This is very powerful.
