Reviews for It Begins
Luna Lillyth chapter 2 . 11/13/2016
Wow, you wrote from inside the characters' heads very well. I love this. Stunned too.
Smiling Seshat chapter 1 . 10/16/2015
Oh, it really makes me so sad to see how bad his life is at some points.
Spider-fan chapter 2 . 9/29/2013
The best movie version in the world.
Jade01thehegehog chapter 1 . 11/6/2012
love the fic, could be A LOT smaller, but it's good. Also have you ever noticed how in the movie Peter throws his glasses on the ground yet gets them off his nightstand? he probably has spares yet I think that was just a directing mistake...
Danni Evans chapter 2 . 8/11/2006
Loved it...I always thought MJ figured it out at the graveyard, but then they did the whole second movie where she doesn't understand his problems with time commitments, so it can't have been...gr, stupid writers (just kidding, they did a great job, I just don't understand that part). Anyway, loved the story, but you might want to split it into much smaller chapters. For one thing, it's easier to find your place when reading it if you have to leave it off somewhere, and for another, it doesn't seem like quite such a daunting task to read if it's in smaller chunks.

I really like the way you describe things (I know I said this in my last review, but it's worth saying again). Have you thought of doing a sequel-novelize the second movie?

Happy writing!

~Danni
Danni Evans chapter 1 . 8/11/2006
Wow...great fic. I like the novelization idea. Actually, I'm working on sort of one myself, from MJ's point of view-that's what I thought was missing from Peter David's version: how and when MJ actually figures "it" out.

I love your descriptions-like the morning after the transformation, seeing his reflection; learning to wall-crawl and web-sling, and so on. I also like your humourous tone...

"Popcorn, sodas, and insults rained down on Peter from above. Great. If I wanted this, I could have ridden the school bus." Lol!

Can't wait to read the rest...
The Stricken One chapter 2 . 2/23/2006
You...are...a...god. I AM NOT WORTHY.

kawaii chibi shun chapter 2 . 10/21/2005
This was so amazing. I own a copy of the official novelization, and as good as it is, it pales in comparison to your work. You went into greater detail, stayed truer to the movie, and gave explanations for Peter's powers - including giving a longer narration of the transition period for Peter adjusting to his new abilities than anyone before you. This is a truly astounding work.
hazelle chapter 1 . 12/16/2004
Oops sorry! I just read that you ARE a publisher! Wait, does that mean that you can publish your own work? Or send it somewhere else? Or just not publish you work at all... hmm...
hazelle chapter 2 . 12/16/2004
Hey I was born in 1989! :D Sorry I just read you bio, as you can probably tell.

Anyways, I've read this before but I can't remember if I reviewed or not, and I'm too lazy to go back and find out if I did, so I'm reviewing again anyway. And I'm sure you wanted to know all that. ;)

Basically, it's great, I enjoyed it just as much as the official novel, and it was just as well written. If you write original pieces you should try to get it published, if you haven't already.

I like the way you left the story on a type of cliffhanger, just like the film managed to. That moment was great, where the audience isn't sure whether MJ knows or not.

The writing is clear and to the point, which I like in a story as I think some stories ramble on too much about descriptions, and oh look I'm rambling now. Ok, I'm going to stop talking and sit here patiently, (or rather impatiently), until you write some more Spidey fiction. I'll be waiting! :)
morph chapter 2 . 12/8/2004
Wow. This must have taken you forever to write and type. It's very well done. Very well done indeed. I have it on hy favorite stories list. I can't wait to read your fic of the second movie. Good luck and keep up the fantastic, amazing work! :)
Jenn chapter 2 . 10/21/2004
I found The Story Continues first, but I wanted to read It Begins first before reading that one.

As I said in my review in The Story Continues, you pointed some things out that I didn't even think about. So once agiain, I want to thank you for a good story as well putting the movie as well as the book in alittle of a different perspective.
Kemurikat chapter 2 . 8/16/2004
Excellent novelization of the Spiderman movie! I can't wait to read your version of Spiderman 2! Keep on writing! I think you're brilliant!
Chocolatequeen chapter 2 . 7/28/2004
This is freakin' incredible! I haven't read the book, but I can't imagine that it could have done as good a job as you did at capturing the emotions and subtleties of the movie. Excellent, excellent job. Thanks so much for sharing.
Hillside Dancing On chapter 2 . 11/13/2002
This is BRILLIANT. Absolutley brilliant. You put the movie in such great detail. One problem though. When the goblin sprays that gas at Peter (I think it's hilarious that Peter didn't get out of the way. He can dodge a punch but not a slow moving cloud of gas. Hehe) it wasn't nerve gas. I think it was just plain sleeping gas. The goblin didn't want him dead yet. Just to whack him out of it enough so that he could talk to him. I'm mad at you for not getting out of the way *points to Peter* and mad at you for not finding out his identity while you had the chance! Both of you go to the Smurf village and spank yourselves! *white coats come and drag Pie away*.

This was still great!
