Reviews for The Slash Man
eldell chapter 33 . 4/23/2019
Aaaaaargh! just wanted to leave you a review here as well. I had to check my old reviews to make sure I'd finished this story the first time around inwhat?2014!?
I'm pretty sure I did, even if I didn't comment on the last few chapters. However I didn't remember how this ended and I was devastated. Devastated, I tell you! Mycroft!o
It helped somewhat with the shock that I was seated on my sofa with my very own Mycroft (the cat) next to me.
What helped a lot more though was the knowledge that there was a whole new story to come that I hadn't followed first time around either because I simply had lost track of the plot. Not because of anything to do with the story, just because I tend to be very forgetful and I wanted to enjoy the third book remembering as much as I could. Thus the re-read or rather the re-listen.
One thing I can say for sure is that this series impressed me in a way that very few stories do. Which means that it stayed with me through the years, details lost due to bad memory but the overall plot surfacing in my mind now and then. Not many writers manage to lodge their stories in my brain like that. I don't have a mind palace I have a mind sieve...And now I've forgotten what else I wanted to say. Oh well. Let me close this review with: you're doing a brilliant job with your writing and I'm really glad you're sharing your stories with all of us. :D
Malmooth chapter 34 . 2/3/2018
When I read Ten Days for the first time I didn't read this story. I thought this would be too much for me. Too disturbing, too upsetting. Thank god I waited. I needed the years to mature to appreciete this story. I don't know where to begin. I like this one even more than the previous one. I treated The Slash Man like every brilliant book I treat while reading it. I read them slowly. I want to keep them alive as long as possible. I read this story for a week. (Awfully long for a fanfiction, eh?) However I couldn'd stop. I finished the third part in one day. It was so incredibly good. I don't know how you do it. How beautifly you capture the hurting and healing. How truly you describe the trauma. How thoughtfully you set the plot. It is brilliant. I love every sentence of this story. What you do with the characters is fantastic. Especially with John. I read the 30th chapter in one breath. Awazing! I could go on and on rambling about what I loved. The backstories of Sherlock and Mycroft, the use of poems, the struggling friendship between John and Sherlock, how I loved to hate Kitty Riley, Greg and Molly together, the character development of everyone... My crushed heart is still crushed (that ending!) and with all its might I thank you for writing this story.
Guest chapter 17 . 1/7/2018
I was enjoying the fic up until this point, and was being patient as I loved the first book, but I don't give a single crap about Molly - sorry.
Quietlymischievous chapter 33 . 3/7/2017
I originally read Ten Days some time ago, I'm not really sure when, but I thought it brilliant at the time. I must have started The Slash Man shortly thereafter but gotten sidetracked (life happens despite our best efforts otherwise) because parts of it seem familiar. Recently I took up the series again and find that my opinion has not changed. You are an utterly brilliant writer. It takes strong writing to elicit strong emotion from a reader and I am rarely brought to tears over a book...but I found that the last three chapters had me frequently putting my tablet down to wipe clear my fuzzy vision. Well done, well done! (Although, my heart gave a shudder when Mycroft's 'body' was dumped at 221B Baker Street's door. I do love Mycroft.) But anyway, I wanted to let you know that I am enjoying your story and thank you for all the hard work you put into it.

i don't remember if i left a review on the first story, but...wow. just incredible. the insane attention to detail, the dexterity of the case, the beautiful blending of canon from the books, and all three series of the show, the character development, the crushing heartbreak... this is the most incredible piece of fanfiction i've ever read. i wish i could bind this and put it on my shelf. i honestly think arthur conan doyle would be proud of a work like this. fucking brilliant
Tekie Scythe chapter 1 . 9/13/2016
Already saw in the comments that there is a third book. which I'm guessing won't be posted for a while if at all, but I'll really hope so, because the first was just amazing, the second must be as well, and I'm excited to read this. (and extremely uncomfortable and terrified)
30biscuit chapter 1 . 1/5/2016
Hello Engazed!
just wanted to say when, approximately, will you begin to post the third book?
I've finished the books about 9 months ago, and I want to read them for the third time now! Please, when will you post the third book in the series?
Thank you millions :)
gill chapter 34 . 1/3/2016
First of all, I became reader FF Sherlock just a few weeks (and yes, I watched the show episodes just a month!) And I confess that I fell in love with the characters of the show (especially John, who became my favorite). I like stories with suspense and drama and this caught me right from the start. Li 'Ten days' and finished this 'Slash man' a few days ago, but I confess that I returned several times to re-read some chapters. All incredibly perfect, one of the best fics I've ever read (read fics another show) and this will always remain as one of my favorites of all time. Would you like to comment every interesting scene of this story, but there were so many ! The chapter most exciting for me was the 30, when Slash Man tries to grab John again. I just stayed at your fingertips, I could imagine each scene, as the richness of narrative. I was very Daz anger by attacking John. Although he is a former soldier, John was weak, hurt, and he's so small! That coward Daz, as you describe it as a great guy. The bastard had it coming! But the interesting thing is that John is more afraid of Moran is not Daz. And this is still out there. Like his Sherlock. He seems more human and flawed, and this is normal, since the character appeared to be sociopathic just because there was no one to care, but things are different now. The scene where he meets John in the corner after the attack was heartbreaking. Another which was lovely was when John discovered that Mary was expecting his child. Their awkward hug in the snow was wonderful. Also prefer their version of their reunion after Sherlock being 'dead' for two years. It is that on the show, the reunion did not have the drama than I expected. Yes, I expected John to punch Sherlock, but the thing was done in a tone through comedy, which in my view, somewhat broke the impact of the reunion. And I hoped it was something that happened between them, only between them, not with the presence of another person (for Mary). I also like that you paired Molly with Lestrade, not Sherlock (No offense, there are people who like to 'Sherlolly' but I think Molly a much character, very FLAT, every time she appeared on the show I hated !) I also like Irene as a vile villain, not as the show put it (in fact, do not know why Sherlock is so fascinated with her because Irene did not, in my view, absolutely nothing to deserve such consideration by it). Then there's John, the most lovable character of the show. The one who stands with all the shit Sherlock and still applauds (and soca when necessary) So I am eager to continue the book 3, for lacking still catch Adler and Moran (mostly Moran) Will you continue? I wonder, because this one was completed in 2014 and we have just entered in 2016. Please, please, I'll be waiting for the conclusion of this incredible trilogy. I have no alerts, but I'll be back from time to time to check whether or not to publish his new job. Thanks for this great story.
PS. My language is not English, but Brazilian Portuguese, and I depend on Google translator. So if my sentences and sentences you do not understand, I blame Google.
Johnlock2001 chapter 34 . 11/20/2015
best book series i have ever read in my life, i have not wanted to put this book down once today and finished it because of this. it is so captivating and it draws you in so well, there were so many cute moments and scenes where i just cried and cried for the sake of the poor charactersit was such an amazing story, excellent follow up to Ten Days, seriously can't wait for Book III
Barefootedfreedom chapter 33 . 11/17/2015
There are no words to describe how incredible this and Ten Days are. The only thing that is even remotely antiquate is masterpiece. I am completely blown away by your incredible detail and plot development. I am a big stickler for characters and their relationships, and you went over and beyond my expectations. John and Sherlock are a pair that I felt have never quite been developed in the way they should be, but you have definitely achieved it. I look forward to reading more of your work!
NykyrianKiara chapter 33 . 10/9/2015
"to be continued..." when? I love your story so far! Characterization, plot. Second time reading through it all.
221bhannah chapter 33 . 5/3/2015
I've just finished reading this story for the first time. There are no words. It is amazing, absolutely extraordinary. You are exactly the writer I dream of being: clever, devious, compelling, sensitive and many more. There are so many things I loved that I cannot name them all; from the way the characters are written, to your style of writing. I adored the part where John and Sherlock embraced in tbe snow, to name one. This is brilliant.
Guest chapter 23 . 1/22/2015
Rita Skeeter's got nothing on this one.
happy-me-111 chapter 34 . 10/15/2014
Holy cow. I am just floored. I apologize for only leaving one review, because every chapter deserves proper attention. I have now read Ten Days and The Slash Man in 3 days time. I will admit to calling in sick to work yesterday so I could read your work. Every chapter was riveting. I so appreciate the time you have put into crafting a back story on all the characters - from Anthea to Sherlock, it is flawless. I am also deeply impressed by your timelines at the end of each fic. It is clear you care about your work - it shows in the way you write.

Also, your characterization of the relationship between Sherlock and John is the best I've ever seen. I am so looking forward to book 3. I cannot wait. Thank you for sharing your gift.

Fingers crossed for Mycroft.
