Glad to see that you are updating the story. Horatio appears to be losing his role as a strong unyielding figure. He is revealing more to this young girl than he ever did to anyone else. She has exposed his vulnerability and it is quite a different view of Horatio.

So sad but glad they have each other.

Mel did have a happy family life,but life turned on her and created a terrible situation. Horatio is sticking with her no matter what. His loyalty to Mel is typical Horatio. Nice chapter!

Good view of Mel's past and her anguish. It gives a hint to understanding how Mel got where she is today. Good job
