Yes, I believe that Booth has (in the past, and in the TV universe) thrown Max a worried looked when Max said, "He needs killing, Booth." Done. And well done!

Booth and Max are really quite a bit alike, with Booth being more of a Boy Scout. Good for Max. That Pelant was a slimey devil.

I hate to be cheering for a lost life, but I've got to admit ... I'm thankful for Max.

Yep, I'm going with what I said in the last chapter review — I like yours better. I also like that you have him proposing a bit more romantically than the actual show, and yet you added a little bit of something unusual by having him propose with a bracelet.

Ah, the unsolved case. Very nice touch. But yikes, I wonder what's going through Brennan's head as she hears that she messed up and put an innocent man behind bars?

"Having to lie to the woman you love and make her believe that you don't want to marry her, when that's the only thing you've ever wanted to do since the day you laid eyes on her." ... "I hurt her when I promised her I would never do that again."

Gah, this is beautiful and perfect. I rarely say this, but I honestly wish we'd seen this in Monday's episode!

"He swore he would paint his hair blue and sing 'Firework' naked in front of the whole lab before he got another meal there again."

I'm sorry ... that line literally had me laughing out loud. I love that despite the seriousness of the chapter, you've got a bit of comic relief in there. (And is it odd that I can picture Booth saying this? Hmm. I wouldn't mind the naked Booth so much, even with blue hair ...)

I love that you have Brennan figuring things out. I still can't decide how I feel about what the show did with her - being semi-vague about what she did and didn't figure out. And I like her calling Angela out on her behavior/attitude towards Booth.

Like you said, Max Keenan is scary. I assume this cryptic little ending means Pelant breathes no more.

I'm glad that I waited to read this, because now I can compare your ending of Pelant to the show's end... I have to say, I like yours better. I love Pelant being outwitted; I adore Booth's support of everyone on the team.

I truly love your fangirl rants/little asides coming by way of Pelant LOL. Things like questioning Sweets's season five actions, the comment about Hannah being a midlife crisis, it was oddly satisfying to hear Pelant's remarks.

Max Keenan *is* scary. ;)

Booth's support of Angela despite Angela's anger towards him was lovely. And I love it that Booth trusted her bug to work (and it did!)
