Reviews for Voices at the Door
Maike chapter 14 . 5/4
It's just lovely. I'll cherish this and some of your other stories for a long time to come!
Nnenna chapter 1 . 4/11/2019
I think this might be my all-time favorite Bilbo story.
Guest chapter 10 . 12/25/2017
This one is more... melancholy? Is that the word you used? Yes, more melancholy than the previous chapters. I like it though!
AndurilofTolkien chapter 14 . 3/20/2017

Sultan chapter 14 . 7/11/2016
Wonderfully drawn word pictures to make our imaginations come alive. Would love to read more and I was disappointed when I came to the end.
Pol chapter 14 . 7/6/2016
Thoroughly, thoroughly lovely, and of course magnificently evocative. I love how slowly, subtly, skillfully you did the shifts of Bilbo's longing for the ring, as well. Just awesome.
jkleeberger22 chapter 4 . 1/14/2016
Such a sweet friendship. There are definitely not enough stories about Aragorn and Bilbo together.
Abject Tears chapter 14 . 3/30/2015
This was absolutely beautiful. I unfortunately am not as good with words as either Aragorn or Bilbo, so I can't quite express how this piece touched me... But suffice to say that it did, deeply. The underlying melancholy, the depth of the bond between the two, that sense that Bilbo is always, always missing something, and yet his strength and joy remain, bolstered by the love of a dear friend- everything just fit together. The entire piece reminds me of the end of LOTR- bittersweet, with the hope of perfect love in the end. Amazing work, thank you so much for sharing this!
marmota-b chapter 13 . 2/24/2015
When you mentioned flowers on the Pelennor fields, I immediately thought of poppies... poppies grow in Pelennor fields...
This one has that exact same note of mixed sadness and gladness.
previouslyjade chapter 14 . 12/30/2014
I read this awhile back when I didn't have my own fanfic account, and I'm so glad I found it again. It's brilliant, a true masterpiece, and I'm so grateful you decided to share it with the world. There's something so poetic and lovely about your writing style.
memee chapter 14 . 5/2/2014
This was absolutely beautiful! Very touching, had to blink away some tears from time to time. I think Bilbo is a very difficult character to write, but you do it very well. He is endearing, thoughtful, ditzy, sad, and so many other things, your Bilbo. I particularity love the way you let him think certain thoughts and then only say a single thought out loud and have Aragorn reacting to it as if this was a completely normal conversation :) beautifully written, thank you for sharing!
TheReader chapter 14 . 2/22/2014
This is so lovely. Thank you!
Freyalyn chapter 14 . 2/18/2014
Bilbo's song is one of my favourite ones in the book, and one I've sung to myself right from my first reading. I spotted each little quote scattered through the story like old friends.

Again, very poignant and melancholy, but a lovely touch with the characters and the little hidden scenes. Thank you.
Freyalyn chapter 4 . 2/17/2014
What an excellent reason for Bilbo's rhyme about the Dunadan.
