Very nice one shot. It would be nice to see a multi-chaptered story that followed this too.

You have a way of drilling right to the emotional core of a scene. Wow, that was dramatic. I got a lump in my throat during Hook's silent speech. His facial expression's during that scene certainly said all that, and more, but you put words to it. Thanks for sharing! :-)

Aaaahhhhh! Brava, Emma! So, so proud of my girl letting Hook know, feeling brave sharing because Hook had been so brave with her. Gah, I mean, aren't they just two sides of the same coin, or what?

Despite the gravitas of this one-shot, I did giggle at Hook's embarrassment to call thei kiss a 'dalliance.' And I'm glad he's lashing out a bit here at her, not because he's trying to be mean but because the man is just so close to the edge and so so raw, it would be impossible for some of that pain not to come out.

I also love how scattered his thoughts become when she tells him her secret. Excellent writing!

And her whispering as she leaves the cave...shivers.
