I am a latecomer in 2017. This was a delightful story. I lived the young Ladies and young Chelsie. The play at Downtown was so dear. I also loved the exchange with Mr. Paul. Thank you for your lovely stories.

Excellent continuation of a great story line!

Thank you for a lovely story. I enjoyed spending time with the young(er) Elsie and Charles and the Peter Pan sub-plot was genius. I now want to read everything you've written.

Ah, Edith , the play's author..perfect. the clues about what your kids will become are always there, aren't they?
Looked like a Spaniel... obscure composers.. I was laughing out loud.
Mrs. Hughes perceptive as usual..." a voice like that belongs on the stage. " Yes, before and in the future.
My hope is there's a "second act" for Charlie Carson... once he marries his lady love and sheds that livery, he does start to live a little... starts his own theatre company in Downton Village-with his capable wife as the manager.

the description of Mrs. Hughes' keys...Capt Hook a wet cat... this should be a Downton Abbey children's book! except the moms reading it to their kids would all fall for the butler!

Loved the reference to your previous story...probably my all-time favorite fan fic...Carson as the illegitimate son of the 4th Earl, and rival of Lord G... this is a fun clever folo-up. "Mr Downton himself, Charles Carson"...that would be right...

I agree with Lady Rosamund. What's next -the street sweeper or the Archbishop of Canterbury? Yeah, he'd be hard for Lady G to resist. But how delicious that Lord G and Miss O'Brien see her touch the butler.

Lady Rosamund's bodyguard... funny... the fuchsia gloves... a hit...Sybil waving to the Barrie family (Carson the "governor" probably contributed to her future free-spirited ways) ..literal circles.. best chapter yet.

I understand Julian Fellowes may write a prequel to Downton Abbey , about the time Lord/Lady G were courting. Hopefully, that prequel will include Carson and Lady Violet-and perhaps skip years to include the young girls-and Mrs. Hughes.

"Your tough luck, Chuck"- hilarious! Lord G's warning to Carson...explains a lot...
