Reviews for Innocence Within
American Theorist Bros chapter 27 . 8/17
Dang. Really good job writing. No run on sentences, nothing of the sort. Though, you've done a good job building the story around Levi and Eren, without forgetting other characters, like Connie. You're a pretty damn good writer. Kudos to you.

i chapter 27 . 7/18
Dear writer,

I'll be honest, I couldn't find a proper way to start the review this time but all I can say, straight to the point, is that I felt thrilled. I will talk plainly about this chapter and plainly means I had the sheer pleasure and contentment to witness a man changing his life.

The point of the chapter is that Levi learned the lessons Eren gave him during their stay in the Underground. Expected to kill and finish one more life, he let that fighter live and stroke the bargain with Springer. The infamous name 'Leviathan' has died on Levi since this day and we witnessed the birth of a new person. Levi would end persons like this much earlier in the story, but the impact he had left on Eren with Armin's death, as well as the impact Eren had left on him with Connie's survival, led him to not scar the innocence further.
This chapter is not about advancing, learning new things, but witnessing with marvel the revelation of the fruits this effort of change bore. They say people can't actually change. I can say, on my end, that this rule isn't absolute and the situation pictured in the chapter was damn real. Its the most beautiful thing in the world. To open your eyes at something universally true. Its a rare thing, but learning about compassion, living in the innocence of a child, basking into it, stretch your hand to reach it, reminds you that you were also innocent once. Its the right thing to do, in a world that likes to dictate a variety of wrongs to follow, forgiveness, love, endurance, innocence and compassion - like the flower that blooms in the dirtiest of places, a power so strong - thoroughly underestimated - that can change the world, or even help one person, is enough.

All I did is witnessing this marvel taking place. Thank you for writing this and that you keep up with this wonderful story. The effort you put into this is very very much appreciated, along with the sharpness and glow of your expression in writing.

I binged read this story from start to finish and WOW. So glad I discovered this, it’s so well written and heartfelt! Can’t wait for the next update!
i chapter 26 . 7/13
Dear writer,

I am amazed. Really I am. But first, not to forget, thank you sincerely for this update and all the effort you put into it.
And I am amazed because you manage to keep the flow of this story so interesting, exciting and, as it is, a life lesson.
First things first, keeping the plot like this, chapter after chapter, is NOT something easy to do. We write and write the plot we have in our minds, but always there will be parts of it that will be dull, maybe trying to simply explain things or whatever. But I don't believe one cannot keep the interest alive even if the plot doesn't need to point up at the given moment. You did that, again, and your work is proof. To be honest I expected a search, description, chase... And instead we got an amazing introduction of Connie ''s situation, and a place called death pit was the stage of something huge to happen.

Not plot - like, but something even more important. Human like. Realising death. Realising the unfair opportunities in this world. Realising justice. With what Eren did, surmised that he knew what right was and the meaning of sacrifice even at his own expense. The life lesson is to never look back, to not get drown in our mistakes in case we make them. Life goes on and we need to catch up, like Levi needs to find now an other way to cure Eren. More dramatic.

The bonding between Levi and Eren is now even stronger. It isn't only Eren who learns. As I had commented to an earlier chapter, children have their own wisdom, so Levi learns too. Watching Eren grow into this fine man helps them stick together through hell. And, as a reader, to be witness of such a process is really something unique.

P.s : I do not leave commentary on the text language because, despite English not being your first language, you have minimum to no mistakes and congratulations on that!

Aw. This is so freaking interesting. Levi sounds so human in this story.
i chapter 25 . 6/27
Dear writer,

I am still trying to calm myself down after reading this, struggling to ease my breath, heart so quietly yet fast beating like tears welling in my eyes. I apologise for the poetic way to start the review, but, partially inspired by the chapter as it is, partially because it would be a serious expense of good words trying to express myself otherwise.

I feel like crying. I don't do it therefore, I am happy, extremely happy with what I read. Its the effort, more like the heart and feeling you poured into this so I just can't actually pick up the appropriate words to describe it. I was, for starters, once again so grateful for the update, but after I finished reading it, the day got brighter. It was the boy's words, his assurance that the man beside him isn't going to be alone anymore. The power of those words, the innocence within that made him Levi 's home.

It's the way you write, once again. Using the power of words in a way that you clearly pass the message, without negotiating, tiring or confusing. Blending together the plot with the thoughts without being two different narrations. Striking the cords with the dialogue, as much as it needed, introducing to us the world - the Underground, darkness and misery - in vivid colours, smell and music. I particularly liked that part with the music, playing every night down to hell, the beacon of hope, the only beautiful thing. It's the symbol human strength can be found along with hope even is the darkest of places, if we look for it and yearn it.

Knocking at the door until it answers. Be brave waiting for it.

this is honestly one of my fav fics for this type of dynamic between levi & eren, in love with the way you paint their relationship
i chapter 24 . 6/20
Dear writer,
When I saw the update, truthfully, I felt so, so much happy. I wasn't expecting the update so this made me feel honored too and I thank you for continuing this beautiful story. I intended this to be the afterword, but couldn't help myself :)
To the review at hand, I am convinced of your writing skills, which remain amazing, the feels marked with words to the point. As for the descriptions you say everything you need to say along with the dialogue which gives life to the characters' faithful portraits. And it's that much alive that I thoroughly enjoy and can't let a word drop. All these things apply to every chapter so far and you keep it this way.
About this chapter in particular, it has to be the opening of an adventure that bounds Eren to Levi even more, as Eren will come to understand the man taking care him through the story of his origins. Eren is once again a very sweet, grateful child despite the hell he lived through, and Levi is always his guardian Angel. On top of that, even if the chapter wasn't large or extravagant, you still managed to pass us the feeling of not having basic things, like a chance to live under the sun. How those people who cannot fill their basic needs as human beings and still they struggle in the dark, feel. It touches the heart because the world is just like that and we all should take something of a child's wisdom and live humbled and grateful for what we have. The way you write likes to remind us of those thoughts not only being a story with situations, but a dynamic interaction with the reader. That's why I love this story, it gives much more than a story and so I am grateful too for this update once again.
RIAEVANS chapter 24 . 6/19
Tysvm 4 d awesome update
Stay safe and healthy
0Shard0 chapter 23 . 6/16
I understood why Armin wasn't a labeled character when you killed him off. It ballsy but with him being so young and Eren and Mikasa not being there to look after him during the titan attack it's understandable he'd die and that other than his relationship with Eren he doesn't really contribute much to this story.

I think you're doing well with the language. The scenes seem well thought out as well. I'm pretty sure you write this out and beta read this.

I am waiting for more and I both want it and dread it with how you plan out the story. I dislike oc's very much the great majority of the time but you're really rubbing it in and making it seem like the humans in the story DESERVE to be slaughtered. It doesn't help that SnK is kinda like this in the first place.
i chapter 23 . 6/10
Dear writer,

While I searched for a story about Levi, as his character always drew me in, in all honesty this is the story that portrays him the best, even reaching perfection.
Eren, on the other hand, always being my favorite character in the aot universe, absorbed me with his innocence. The same kind I could see in the anime and manga.
Still, this story stood out for me for being such a jewel. A written little masterpiece, that melt my heart. It didn't, in the end, mattered just because of the aot characters who had made such an impression to me, but your writing, your skill and expression. An expression that made feels and colors burst, so much intense, yet human that made me read all of the chapters at once during the night.

I don't know if you plan to continue updating, but I would truly loved to.
Truly.
Either way, I couldn't just read this and leave without leaving a note of appreciation behind. As a reader and as a writer, I thank you for this creation. And as a human I couldn't feel more lucky for finding it. We need more of this writing in our lives, this skill and the messages, the meaning. So keep it up with writing in general, don't let go. Thank you once again for writing this and I hope to see one more chapter at least in the future if you want to. :)
