I have been going back and reading some old Rizzles fics and came back to this one. I get this was part writing exercise and part exploration but it actually reads true to me in lots of ways. Jane would need to tear things down to the basics and then put them all back together to understand what she was not seeing. Thanks much for this glimpse.

I hope I'm not the only one that thinks Maura actually has those tickets for the sox game & she's just waiting to surprise Jane.

This was definitely a slow Rizzles burn, but so beautifully written I didn't find myself as impatient as I usually am. Kudos for daring to look into women's hearts with all the uncertainties and self-doubt expressed to lovingly in this story. I was about Jane's age in this story when I faced my own self-doubts. Well, here we are, years from now. This was a favorite story on someone else's favorite's list. And now, it's on my favorites list as well. It was artfully written. I spent a cool, rainy Sunday afternoon reading it—perfect lazy day.

May I just say that this is one of the best fanfics I have ever read? I do not offer that comment lightly and it's not even over—or anything close to M rated yet. So, thank you in advance to ChariletheCAG! I laughed out loud three times in this chapter alone. It still has a couple of edits (I should be a beta!) but it is just a terrific, thoughtful, nuanced story. I. Love. It.

I absolutely loved this story. I felt it was true to their character. And it was mainly just the two of them. I absolutely cannot stand Angela. I love the stories that tell her off. There are very few that I enjoy her in. (got that off my chest) Thank you for leaving this here for us late comers to read.

I enjoyed this story again. A few chapter in, it sounded familiar but I kept reading!
