Reviews for A Not-So Sunny Story
Nickolaus Pacione chapter 1 . 4/21/2015
I read parts of Catcher in the Rye now I am looking for a print copy and talking with his estate about them owning a CreateSpace Account where I prepare their official edition for publication and I write the introduction for it. It's funny with the passing of the creator of the book in recent years these stories had been showing up. Something about Catcher in the Rye opens doors for some really vulgar works and funny too. I had played up the style with a creative nonfiction yarn and you can really criticize this circuit with it because of being a published author who employs print-on-demand tech to do anthologies I encourage writers who write this size that I see with this story to try an original work of fiction or creative nonfiction the same size. Go check out what I did and you know exactly what I mean because it's a style match.
Holden Caulfield chapter 1 . 4/22/2014
This is pretty goddam excellent. This isn't really a review - not really. If I were to write a whole goddam review it would be all phony and crummy. This is just a sorta comment. Jus' sayin' I enjoyed it.

This deserves a standing ovation.

Of all Catcher in the Rye stories, I did not expect one to be about Sunny. But this ws one, and it was perfect.
jf chapter 1 . 1/18/2014
This beautifully ugly story has entranced me so. I've read this 3 or 4 times now, and makes me wonder if this is not one of your greatest work to date. I'm having a hard time trying to wrap my head around the idea that such a young fellow like yourself can -IS- write such sorrow in such a mature, adult way and still be more entertaining than anyone can expect! Not saying that you can't because you are 13... probable 14 now. But what I am saying is that you can give a experienced novelist a run for his money! This story in-spurs such an array of emotion that I still get a clenching sensation in my stomach. The way you tell this tragic tale of a day in a life of poor lost Sunny is a true bittersweet experience. I tear up at the last three lines of the story every time I read it.

Dramatic. In ways.

Saudade. In thought.

Malicious too. perhaps of the heart or of youth.

And lovely in every other.

Beautifully written! Beautiful beautiful beautiful! Yes, another masterpiece Novi!

Wonderful!

I still can wait for you to publish something.
