why does ryu have to harp on the Jedi qui gonn told him that the Jedi seek the permission of the child's parents yet he still harps it seems in every fanfic he seems to harp on those who have pacifist tendency in a side story of Ron the true fans mass effect star trek universe crossover ryu harps on the federation for not being overtly militaristic enough and saying that the federation doesn't have the stomach for war with long periods of peace making them soft it seem ryu only lives for war and cant see anything beyond that that it is not even funny and he shouldn't have been there at all but rather an oni officer or a diplomat not a trigger happy saber rattler who doesn't listen.

Call me a bastard but ever think that hacking a Star Wars ship is impossible from the afore mentioned routines? Think about it, all piloting is done from the bridge of a ship no matter what, never is there an auto-pilot. Also, the only hacking shown in any of the movies and games is through an interface and even then they could only hack rudimentary things like door controls, cameras, and sometimes the ship itself.

Well written! Would I be correct in saying that Slipspace Drives work via Tesseract? If so, they would actually be a Tactical Advantage over Hyperspace- they don't have to be as concerned about Gravitational Pull of Celestial Bodies while Jumping...

I wonder how UNSC & Covenant weaponry compares to Republic, Trade Federation & (later) Seperatist weaponry- the Trade Federation would probably have a heavy interest in UNSC A.I, but would also be vulnerable to it.

love the story though a few problems 1. you have Ryu get angry at the fact that Jedi train children after taking them from their parents even after Qui-Gon says they ask the parents if they can train them now you probably are having him angry at the fact that they keep them away from their family however I read somewhere that if a Jedi wants to when he/she is a knight can go look for his or her family though many choose not to 2. Ryu is pretty much disrespectful towards Qui-Gon after he explain why Jedi can't have families and in that explanation he says "though I will admit Obi-Wan is the closest thing I have to a son" there by proving that he doesn't follow the code (in canon Qui-Gon is described as a maverick and sometimes breaks the Jedi code and at one point had a lover in the Jedi order though she was killed by a bounty hunter, because of this he wouldn't be allowed to serve on the counsel despite his close friendship with master Yoda and a few others on the counsel) and Ryu still goes off in a rant almost as if he didn't hear that last part (which I highly doubt since you have him augmented), if any thing I would've thought that last sentence would have calmed him down a little bit at least than again he is your character and how he acts is completely up to you. other than the fact that they pretty much forced the republic ship on there flagship to talk to them and copy the map when they could have just raised them on the coms and ask them where the hell they are and if they could give them a map of the galaxy, there's nothing else I can think of but anyway I still found it entertaining also are these guys going to get involved with the mandolorian civil war if so I feel bad for deathwatch (not) thats if they side with the true madolorians of course really hope you update this story though its good and I don't like incomplete stories that are good have a good day.

First I just have to thank you for not making your AI some reference to an obscure 21st century movie that nobody even liked that much.

Second I would like to thank you for sticking to established ship classes for the UNSC instead of making up your own hulking 20 km 80 Mac cannon monstrosities. It means a lot to me.

Third, the name Tokyo Rules for the prowler...it doesn't really fit. Prowlers have a naming scheme, and that certainly doesn't follow it. Maybe that would work for a civilian cargo ship, but on a warship it just sounds ridiculous.

Frankly the UNSC strong arming a foreign peacekeeping into taking Spartans on board their ship is sloppy writing. I know why you did it, but it could have been handled better. Even them capturing the ship was a diplomatic incident, they can not dictate terms to a foreign vessel. Although Qui Gon may agree anyways it should not have been a demand for "insurance", it should have been a request.

Also a warship sending the commander of its ground forces onto a foreign vessel for no reason is damn stupid.

AAAARG- how many people have you ever seen actually facepalm in everyday life. The answer for me is 0. Now ask yourself how many of those people were the commanders of several km warships. (Sorry face palming is a rage button of mine.)
If anything just say "pinched the bridge of his nose" or if your stuck on facepalm, "put his hand in front of his eyes".
(At least you expanded it to "palmed his face", it truthfully isn't that bad, I'm just bitter.)

I dislike Ryu. He sounds like an author mouthpiece to rail on Jedi. Please note I'm not particularly fond of them either, but the UNSC does not retain the ability to judge others for asking parents to train their children.
A good officer would just smile and wave as he tried to get as much information as possible. In fact Ryu shouldn't be there at all, it should be an ONI officer.

I wouldn't mind if he voiced that opinion, I mind that he's voicing it with so little information. Three sentences a full picture does not make.

The mentioning of the separate spartan programs is entirely unnecessary. In fact elaborating anything beyond advanced special operations troops is unnecessary. Frankly its unimportant.

I'm not sure how shocked the Supreme Chancellor would be by a 30 year war. The republic hasn't seen war in a long time, but it's had some bloody conflicts in the past. If anything he should be surprised that they are sitting peacefully in front of him. That's probably what you meant.

Okay imma call bullshit on that one. Even with Ryu being a possible author mouthpiece, the Jedi order that has trouble accepting a child 2 years older than normal into the ranks just up and agrees with him? Bullshit. I don't mind him making those speeches, as out of place as they are, but please try to give appropriate responses to them? Maybe over time the council could be convinced, but a three minute conversation with a man they just met is not going to destroy their trust in the ancient ways. Ryu is also wrong if were going with Star Wars canon.

I do like this story, so I'm just going to post this as is so I can stop nitpicking and just enjoy what's written.

So far i like it. Going to favorite almost definetly. Have to say tha aproach Ryu took it the jedi council as rather blunt.
Then again some people need a slap in the face, and from a man who can outdrink an sangheili and has insurance papers just for him, subtlety is an option.
