the calculations i did are an estimate of how much sleep she was losing

according to my calculations ruby was only getting 28-56 hours of sleep during that month and she was losing 196-168 hours of sleep during the same time.
ruby would need to get 196-168 hours to be back to normal and that would take 17 days if she only slept an hour - 2 weeks if she only slept for 2 hours.
(note these calculations are done with the information in the story)

one thing is certain if ruby had gone another night with insufficient sleep ruby would need medical attention
