OMG chapter 17 . 8/6/2018
I just finished reading this (all 17 chapters) and it took over a week. (Even though i started after you had already finished.) And i love it! It was sad sweet with a pinch of mush and a blend of action and friendship and just the right amount of crazy. If you put it all together (which you did.) It makes the most amazing story ever! I love it!l!l!l!l!

I always come into a story long sfter its done or almost done so i make my title of the comment what Chapter i just finished reading so its not confusing. And now is like to say i do the same thinb i dont write and publish yet but i write my own stories for personal reading and they are mostly httyd stories based on fisical and mental struggle. I find that makes all the happier when i finish it with a happy ending.

Woah. I really like a lot of your stories, because they're not only in character, but they usually involve some form of injury or scarring to the characters, whether or not its physical or mental (Hallucinations, right?). I usually feel guilty about it later, but heyyy, I might as well. Somehow, you killing Dagur last chapter, changed... just about everything for me, in the opinion of this story. I mean, it's a really dark sort of twist, of course, seeing how he just stepped off a cliff (or escarpment) to his death, but... it's really different, and actually rather refreshing for me, honestly. In a lot of fandoms that I've read fanfiction for, stories where, y'know, some crazy and deranged character (if that can even qualify for a pun, its not intended) hurts the main guy and guilt complex and mental scarring happens, but if memory serves me correctly, said bad guy is often... I dunno, sealed away, killed in righteous battle, something like that. But somehow you always manage to put this sort of... dark twist over it, and it makes it feel very dark and original.

I love the fact that Hiccup refused to kill Dagur in the end, and I love the fact that in the end, Dagur's darkness led him to fall and to want to fall only to himself, rather than someone wishing revenge for all the harm that he's done, fully deserved by that point. It's just, because I've got this horrid habit of seeing things from every which way, it puts the possibility of Dagur's most likely demented past right into the scope of perspective, and suddenly everything shifts. He didn't want to fall to someone he saw as weaker than himself, physically and mentally, and it led him to just... falling on his own volition, in the end. I'd like to put this into words that hopefully wouldn't make me sound like a complete nutter, but I'm not sure how that's going so far, so I'm just going to say that I love the darkness all over these fics. It's just, really, really great, for me.

Ah, it seems like every time I try to say something it winds up turning into a very, very long thing. I'm sorry for yammering on about this for so long, but as the kind of person who tends to just lie in the dark until I stop feeling jittery from reading, being able to at least, tell someone about it is definitely a good thing. I'd best stop sitting at my laptop by now, I suppose. That might be why I'm feeling so... contemplative tonight.

Why do my favorite characters always have to kill themselves?
ILovetoothless chapter 17 . 2/16/2014
I am just amazed at your writing skills.
That was just up there with Harry potter (from the book by jk Rowling) and the knife of never letting go (from the book by patrick ness)
I will remember this story in years to come and will tell everyone to read it.
Thank you.
;)
