First, sorry that this is later than I promised. I had kind of a busy two weeks so I just couldn’t find the time to read this until now. But here it is!

Keith, what are you doing, you’re fighting freaking Superman this is not the time to think about Bakura. And now he’s yelling at his own thoughts? It’s good advice though, his thoughts should follow it. In all seriousness, it’s pretty amusing to see just how done he is with all of this. Maybe it could even be a bit of a turning point for him? He seems pretty not okay with the way the ministry is handling this, and all the pointless deaths. But it might still be too soon for that. Oh, fucking g-d he’s setting the store on fire, of-fucking-course. I’m starting to like him quite a lot. Ooooh, the dementors are loose now. Dementor scenes are so great when done right, especially for characterisation so that’s very exciting. That conversation with Ryou was one of his worst memories? Huh, I wasn’t expecting that. His happy thought are cute though (he does love Coppermine!). Oooh, Bakura is gonna do something awesome. And Yuugi too probably? Wow, killing the dementors, that sure is something. I wonder what those lights are. Happy memories they’ve stolen? Or maybe even souls? Anyway, Solomon was awesome in this section. I hope he'll be okay...

! Tea and Amanda are together?! That’s so awesome! Ah, sweet sweet sapphic representation, how I love you. And then that prayer scene is just. So powerful. Those last two sentences especially (”Into home. Their city awakens.”) It’s really one of those parts that just brings so much anticipation. I’ve nevere been to San Francisco but man, does this make me want to. And seeing the magic work after that is great again. I really love all these little parts of meta-physical worldbuilding. The feel of the barrier is very fitting too, I think. Practical and impersonal fits wizards very well. And in contrast, the mage magic is fluid and warm and unrestricted. Aaaah, and “Isis laughs, soft as a storm“ is such a great line, I’m really really liking your portrayal of her so far. Huh, I wonder who does have the ability to see magic. Mahad? Or Yuugi? Someone else I’m not thinking of? Yes it’s Yuugi. That is such a perfect power for her to have. And then she continues to be amazing. 3. And now Mana knows who Yuugi is too! I'm really looking forward to seeing how that develops. Side note, is magic being a type of energy the reason high concentrations of magic mess with electricity in this world?

I really like the thing about Bakura prioritizing like a criminal instead of like a general. Lower class heroes ftw! Honestly though, I really appreciate that one of your main three heroes is/was really poor. Actually, that also fits well with him being Jewish, cause that means he’s the descendant of the slaves who used to live in Egypt. Damn, Tristan is awesome. Even with a power as unfortunate as his. Weevil was pretty awesome too, but in a very bittersweet way; he’s just a kid and shouldn’t be put in a position where he has to kill someone, or else see someone who’s trying to protect him die and/or get tortured, and then get horribly executed. Never thought I’d feel this bad for Weevil. Oh fuck, they got Weevil. Ooooh fuck, and Trsitan too. Aaaah, no, don’t die!

So he’s definitely dead? That... really sucks. But I am really looking forward to Yuugi’s POV. Really really really looking forward. And the energy powers are so amazing, I love it. Hey, I just realised, Solomon has been kidnapped by, amongst others, Pegasus. Canon Yu-Gi-Oh! parallels?

Anyway, that was a really awesome chapter. I’m not gonna make a promise for when I’ll review the next chapter, cause I’m afraid I’ll end up breaking it again, but I will definitely get to it eventually.

Oh wow. Just found this, read it all in one go; can't wait for the next part of the series.

First of all, I'd just like to say congratulations on finishing the first book! You did awesome and you should feel proud of yourself. :)

Keiko was a Plant name Kiyoshi? Did you take that name from The Last Airbender? But she sounds both scary and pretty bad ass.

This was kind of sad, since everyone was finding out who was killed or kidnapped during the war, but Atem and Bakura finally met. Yay! But I am really getting curious about Reiko. First, she disguises herself to integrate herself with the wizards, fights with them, betrays them and disguises herself again to escape assassination, saves Coppermine, and then walks right up to the two of the most powerful mages she will ever meet and gives herself right up. But what was with setting the corpses on fire?

Gasp! Mokuba was taken? Oh boy, the wizards better look out! Big brother isn't going to be very happy when he shows up at their door breathing fire on their ass. But Mokuba is a Muggle, so why take him? Is it because he's Seto's brother or because he was fighting with the mages? Probably both, I'm guessing.

There's that red haired woman again. I STILL haven't figured out her identity. I've already gotten halfway through the fifth book, and I haven't yet see any mention of a red haired blue eyed woman.

That last part . . . scary . . . Atem come save your grandpa! But who did he go and stab? Please tell me it wasn't Mahad or any of the other mages. And salt and pepper hair in ponytail? Wasn't that the description of Ryou Andrew's father?

And Kitamori is just awesome. I wonder what she's planning - does she intend to join the mages or just use them to achieve whatever her aims are? Maybe she's going to get that meeting with Amanda after all. I look forward to seeing the mages' reaction to her 'surrender'. (Seto's reaction is so going to be 'kill her')

Wow the epilogue! And it's just as awesome as the rest of the story.

Kitamori being Gara was kind of unexpected - but great. Can't wait to see what she's planning. And her backstory with Pegasus. Or how her whole surrendering/ team-up with the SF mages plays out. I'd always figured that the unspeakable who would join up with the mages would be Keith not Kitamori - so kudos.

And what exactly did she do to Coppermine - how precisely would she have known that he would be in the right place to recommend her to Keith?

I guess that at the end we just saw Pegasus go off the deep end?

Sooo it's been about two months? I'm really sorry it took me so long to get around to reading this. Better late than never I guess?

Anyway on to the review. So Keith is actually trying to warn them. That's definitely process. Maybe he'll actually be a decent person by the time this fic is over. Maybe he'll end up helping the mages in the fight? Or maybe that's too soon. Although he's already helping them not just for Ryou but because Rex, Weevil and Rebecca are kids too and don't deserve to be hunted. If he just extends that to all mages he's almost there.

Those blocks with the plant orders are really cool and kinda chilling too. It kinda shows how all the personality is basically just window dressing for their conditioning. Really well done. But Kitamori is not a plant? Not sure if that's something that was revealed earlier or not but either way it's interesting. Oh wait, are they gonna kill her? Hopefully not, I like her. The sleeping magic and cloaking bubble are really cool too. It's just two sentences of description but they work very well I think. "[It is time.]" aaaah that's so good and suspenseful. Sets the mood excellently. I'm excited now. Oh fuck they are killing her. Ha, she survived! And now the persona is creeping into the thoughts of the plant. Huh. That's very interesting. Maybe their feelings/personalities are more genuine than I thought? Oh my g-d Reiko is awesome. That was so great I wanna know more about here. Which I'm guessing will happen soon enough ). Aaaah and she's even comforting him as she's killing him. Considering he's a plant it would probably be easy to just dehumanize him and the others, but she doesn't, I love her 3.

Oooh, did Bakura just realise that Yuugi is (part of) the Pharaoh? I'm really looking forward to seeing where that goes. It's probably gonna have to wait until after the fight, when things have settled down a bit, but I'm sure it's gonna be awesome. I wonder if she knows what's up with that? I hope she does. Okay yeah, Bakura definitely figured out who Yuugi is. Awesome. So Yuugi figured out who Bakura is too. I wonder what the pendant's abilities are. Nice to see that Shimon/Solomon is badass too. And Yuugi is a mage? It makes sense but I don't know why she would hide it. To hide that she's the reincarnation of the Lady Pharaoh? Idk. Ah, so Bakura breaking the seal was a bad thing. In hindsight, that makes a lot of sense. Also, yet more confirmation that Yuugi is The Best. Of course she figured it out years ago she's Just That Good. And now she's shutting down attempts to keep her out of the action For Her Own Good and instead weighing the pros and cons for herself. 3333. Aaaah, and that interaction was so great. Short but sweet. And now she's joining the fight this is gonna be so great.

Wow, fighting with drawings, that's such an awesome power. Oh, but the guy and his mom that's so so sad. Especially 'Is he a healer? A necromancer? Or is he just desperate?'. That's just heartbreaking. But Keith's good influence is spreading. It's nice to see that just that one conversation he had with Pete had enough of an impact to save a life, and probably more if Pete keeps this up. You're getting there Keith! And now Mokuba (I think) is riding on Joey-in-dragon-form's back with a semi-automatic, fuck yeah. Okay, I'm gonna stop commenting on single thing that happens now cause that would just be a mess, but rest assured that entire fight scene was really awesome. I think Pete was a really good choice for the first POV of actual fighting. With all the 'just doing my job' thought and the thing at the beginning at the scene where he didn't kill that guy, coupled with the Jeremy POV from the beginning makes really humanises the wizard-side, which makes everything more tragic and just adds so much weight to the things that happen. And then it ties back to the beginning with a nice and suspenseful note the end chapter on.

So, really great and exciting chapter, Kitamori was great and Yuugi continues to be The Best. I'll try to review the next chapter tomorrow or the day after. And again, thank you so so much for writing this story. I'm gonna try to be better about reviewing within a reasonable time from now on.

I would dearly like learn more about Reiko Kitamori (such an interesting character) & also to know about what did that Unspeakble did in the end & what consequences it created.
Would dearly want to see how the mages will rescue Solomon & Mokuba.
I'm very eager to see what you have planned next & how will your story will unfold, so I shall wait for your next masterpiece.

First you kill Tristan, let Haga get recaptured, AND allowed Grandpa to be kidnapped, and now Matthew is kidnapped too?! What is wrong with you? You like have your readers on the edge of their seats biting their nails in worry and frustration don't you? Seriously, Mahad's one of my favorite characters and now he's in the clutches of a bunch of wizards who hate his guts. :(
Also, that bit with Bakura near the end, so sad, I wanna hug him.
On the flip side, Yugi merged with the spirit and became Atem so I'm happy about that. And even better, Seto got to see her, so yay for that!
